Brand new and need extra support

I have never been overweight, But after a very bad situation in the past 2 years i packed on lots of extra pounds. through it all I found the girl i wanna spend the rest of my life with. and i am doin this for her. i want my life to be long with her. we are helping eachother through this process but still need some added support... and we love to help others with theirs too. friends that help friends :)

    it's so awesome when a couple commits to changing together for the better! my guy and i are trying to do the same, it's a little harder as he lives elsewhere, but MFP sure makes it easier.

    Wow!! It's great that you're doing this together! So many people have to go through this all by themselves, having no or not much support from their other half.
    Together you're going to get there. Don't forget though: you have to take small steps, with this weight loss journey just like with everything else in life.

    That's a good thing. Though, I'll always say do it for yourself [before you can do it for others], just because no one knows what happens in the future. As long as you're both on the same page, it should work. Post on the forums should you need advice. Obviously, the community here is very supportive.

    Thank you everyone. We feel lucky to have eachother. And I definitley agree with doing it for myself before doing it for others... we are doing it for ourselves and eachother. and our kids. They are biologically hers, but even though they are my step kids, they are my sons...and we want to live a long healthy life with them

    It's wonderful that you have not only taken on a new relationship but the children as well. My step dad was awesome growing up and he always treated all seven of us like we were his own. He used to say: "There are no 'steps' in my family. You are ALL my children." That included his own three kids ... together there were 10 of us, although only the two youngest boys were left at home when he and my widowed Mom got together. He was the MOST wonderful Dad anyone could ever have had ... bio or not :)

    Ahh that's lovely. Its so nice to see a couple so committed to each other. Doing it together is great and we are all here for you too.

    I am gonna admit, when my fiancee said we should join this site, i didn't think it would realy make a difference. i can see now i was wrong. i feel blessed to have eveyrone of ur supports.... and I do hope that when my kids grow up, even though i am their "step dad" , they will still be able to concider me their father..adn a great one.. hope you guys don't mind if i add request you...
