Heya! So with working out and all, I find it extremely difficult to keep up with my calories while keeping my sodium and nutrients in check! I'm trying to get ideas for small snack foods that pack healthy calories. I know nuts are a good one, but are there any others? Ideas? Thanks! :-)

    Hi!

I have a bunch of go-to snacks that you might like.

edamame (I throw a handful in a bowl in the microwave w/ some sesame seeds and heat for about 30 seconds)
whole wheat pretzels, black olives and hummus
    apple slices and almond butter
    avocado slices with dressing
dried fruit (blueberries, cranberries, apricot) are high calorie and go great with nuts

    Hope that helps

I vote for avacado! You can spread it on some whole wheat cracker or dip whole wheat pretzels in it. or just eat it plain! Or with tomato!

    Olives
nut butters (I'm giggling while typing that)
    dried fruits
    granola

Also, when I was having issues getting enough calories, I switched to higher fat dairy (2% Milk instead of skim, etc).
  • Thanks for all the great replies!! I've never tried Avacado..Maybe I'll give it a shot :-) Dried fruit sounds great, too! Going to the store today to stock up! :-)
