weight gain

I am so frustrated. I started teaching kickboxing again the beginning of January. Over the past few weeks I have been stuck between 133 and 135 pounds up from 129. I have been exercising 4-5 times a week, 45 minute classes each.
I have had my caloric intake set for 1200 per day and I just realized that my BMR (basic metabolic rate) is 1231 without even figuring in activity! No wonder, my body thinks it's starving. After figuring in activity my daily caloric intake should be 1908! After subtracting 500 calories from that for the purposes of losing this extra 4 pounds, I should be taking in 1408 calories a day! If anyone else is struggling, make sure you are getting enough calories for your activities.

I have heard of this happening and always wondered if it was really true. Please keep us posted on what happens with the increased calorie intake. Thanks for sharing.0

How do you find out your BMR? Do you have to have a HR monitor or something?0

Relatively light trying to get leaner. This guy has a number of posts and he does a great job of explaining things0 -
I've had the same thing happen to me before. I don't really work out but I do play squash 3-5 times a week. My intake was 1200 calories and day but I was stuck at the same weight. I've since increased my intake to 1700 hundred calories and my weight loss resumed. As much as we want to achieve weight loss as soon as possible starving is not an option. Just gotta make the right food choices that's all.0
