I did a search and couldnt find the answer so should I do strength training everyday,or every other day?

  • It depends on what you are training. If you are doing whole-body training, then you can do twice a week or 3 times. If you are breaking it up into body parts, you may do it 3, 4, 5, or even 6 days a week depending on how you break it up (legs and back, or chest and back, or arms and legs, etc. etc.). If you start with whole-body, eventually you'll want to break it up so it's more effective. Some people never do that (think the gym "Curves" and their little circuit training thingy), but it's much more effective if you eventually learn how to break up the routine and do 3-4 exercises per muscle group.

    every other day is better as it will give your muscles time to recover. Also your muscles continue their burn after you finish working out and can sometimes last 24 hours after

    Hi,

    I do lower body on one day and upper body the next day, alternating them during the week. Sunday is a day off. Your muscles need time to recover, well at least that is what I've read and it works for me. Strength training makes me feel great. Good luck

  • Every other day for a max of 3 days per week. Your body doesn't grow in the gym, it grows when resting in between - most muscle groups take 48-72 hours to recover after a good session. Train any harder then that and you'll not give them a chance to repair - over the long term this results in smaller, weaker muscles! :o)

    ok thanks my brother told me everyday but hes in prison so im guessing he dosent have much else to do lol

    It depends what you do. If you work your whole body, especially if you lift intensely, your muscles need rest so every other day. If you do specific body parts, you need at least a day of rest until you work that muscle group out again. It is easy to over-train with strength training which will stop your progress in it.
