I've lost almost 80, some pre mfp but all recent...in the last year, year and a half

    1) make lifestyle changes you plan to actually keep not just do until you lose whatever you want to or get in your goal size
    2) therapy and or figuring out the reasons you became obese / unfit / ect
    3) find a balances of exercises; some that you love and could do forever just for fun and some that are a challenge
    4) multivitamins and fish oil (sorry vegans, I know you can't do fish oil)
    5) don't let slip ups, gains or bad eating days force you to quit....KEEP GOING

    Log everything you eat.

Buy a kitchen scale so you can figure out what a "serving" is EXACTLY.

And get a heartrate monitor. It will help you figure out an accurate account of calories you burn. Mine is programmable to certain heartrate zones so it will tell me when I need to back off a little and when I need to kick it into high gear. I love it!

    1. have a goal (i.e., "i want to lose 12 lbs in 12 weeks")
    2. have a plan (i.e., know what your workouts and meals will be ahead of time.)
    3. work your plan
    4. believe in yourself - if you know you will succeed then you will succeed. if you think you will fail then you will fail. it's that simple
    5. write down your progress - weight, body fat %, measurements, etc

Weight I've lost so far is in my ticker, though it rounds up, so it's actually 130.6 since last April/May.

    1) My self-confidence is so astronomically high, I don't care what anyone says, I do what I do for me and me alone.
    2) I'm responsible for my own actions, therefore I'm experimental with what I do, in life and in health.
    3) Eat it. Enjoy it. Love it. Log it. Lose it.
    4) I drink at least 12 glasses of water a day, on average.
    5) PATIENCE. I have plenty of it.

    1. Log everything.
    2. Don't let setbacks set you back. Move on.
    3. Regular, meaningful exercise
    4. Cut WAY back on processed foods (HFCS and hydr. oils)
    5. Protein and fiber.

    1. Have the motivation (buy a new pair of joggers or read a health magazine)
    2. Stretch before you work out
    3. Drink plenty of water
    4. Bring a friend, they are friendly competition and you are less likely to blow off a trip to the gym
    5. Even if you can only exercise 20 min a day its better than nothing so GET MOVING
