Different trainers saying different things?

I go to the gym almost 5 days a week and we have different trainers on the floor at different timings. I do no have a personal trainer so i depend on these general trainers themselves . The thing is one of the trainer asks me to do a lot of cardio before weight training and then a lot of cardio after, for a healthy 1 - 1.5 kg loss per week. it takes me around an hour and forty five minutes to finish my work out.
The second trainers has asked me to do just 20 mins of caqrdio before weight training and fifteen minutes after. He says if i work out at this rate my body would get used to it and then i would find it difficult to maintain in the future
what should i do ? which trainer should i go with? also my goal is to lose a kg a week in a healthy manner and i don't really have low energy issues during work outs anymore after the first 2 days that is . Thanks in advance

Hate to say it but I'd say they're both wrong. Numerous research studies have shown that if you do cardio BEFORE your workout you sacrifice energy during your resistance session which is when you need to hit the muscles the hardest. Start with a 5-10 minute cardio warm up to get the blood flowing, then hit your weights and finally do your cardio for a minimum of 20 minutes - and then build it up.
If you're weight training 5 days a week you might want to cut back a bit as you're not leaving yourself time to recover in between. I'm a 204lb body builder and I only train weights 3 times a week!
As an aside note - the gym instructors that aren't qualified personal trainers aren't actually allowed to give you advice like that as their training doesn't cover it (and nor does their insurance). They can only provide a 'one-size-fits-all' plan for a healthy adult beginner, which when you progress to PT level you're told to ignore as its useless and doesn't apply to most people!0 -
I agree with "Whitestar", I do 5 - 10 minutes cardio before weight training, Then 60 - 70 minutes weight lifting depends on speed & equipment availability. I do 20 minutes of cardio everytime after weight training. I DO NOT exceed 3 times a week; but I do other cardio exercises everyday such as cycling & tennis, that covers 5 - 6 days a week of exercise combined with watching what I eat. As such you can acheive 1 - 1/2 kg loss a week. Hope this is helpfull.0
