So I have been working out for 3 weeks, 6 days a week, for at least an hour a day, and I have not lost 2lbs. I am very frustrated and thinking about giving up =[ I have an ear infection and cant work out for 8 more days due to this strong antibiotic im on. I have my settings to where i lose 1lbs a week, but i havent lost hardly any! What should i do? I need some tips and motivation please! =]

How many calories are you eating per day? Are you eating at least some of your exercise calories back? If you aren't eating at least 1200 calories a day, your metabolism will stall and won't allow you to lose.
  • Yes. I am eating my burned calories and I am consuming about 1400 cals a day and MFP has me losing 1lbs a week eating this many cals a day.
  • You should try to lower the calories a bit and drink more water. Remember to have your snacks throughout the day and don't eat junk. Eat healthy at all times.

Don't give up. It took me a year to figure out what I needed to do because I'm weird apparently. lol!

Just try reducing your cals by 100 for a week or two and see what that does and keep doing that until you're down to 1200. If that doesn't do it, then go back to your starting line and increase by 100 until.. I don't know, maybe 1800 or so? Some people end up getting results after they increase their caloric intake. but you'll never know if you quit. I do get how frustrating it is.. trust me. I get it.

    Good luck!
  • aww Thanks guys! I will change a few things and see how it goes! =]

I found it helpful when I would get "stuck" without losing weight to change up my routine. Interval training really would help "rev" up the weight loss. Switching the way I would weight train, like do heavier weight w/ slower reps one day, lighter wieght with higher reps the next. Raising the incline on the treadmill. A trainer told me that your body will get used to how you excersize and that you should switch it up to always keep your body guessing, plus it keeps you from getting bored.
