I'm 5'9" and 224 now.. I've always felt less girly since I've been tall with wider hips and shoulders... Having all this extra weight has just made me feel even less girly.. My question is;
If you're a tall woman whos lost weight, do you feel more feminine since dropping some weight?

I'm curvy as he!! but I know what you mean. I used to feel like a lumbering giant. I was 5'10" and 215lb at my highest. Personally, I do feel more feminine since losing weight but it's still an inner battle for me when I wear heels.0

I'm 5'9 as well and back when I was 20-21ish I was around 140 lbs. I definitely felt girly, as I chose to channel my girly side by wearing skirts, cute tops, really cute shoes..all that! Still all my friends are shorter and more petite than I am but you feel a lot better when you are tall and thin! At least I didn't feel like such a giant monster! As of Monday I was at 173 and I have that feeling back so I can't wait to get down more because I will be embracing my girly side once again!! Good luck and feel free to add me if you'd like!0

I'm 6 feet tall and at 245 now. However, at my lowest of 205 when I was a cheerleader, I felt a lot more "girly." Right now I feel like a big blob of giant xP But when I was thinner I felt great!0

You'll be amazed at how much "womanly" you feel. I wear more tailored tops and pencil skirts, sundresses, pink, a lot of pink. That makes me feel girlie. 5'11" started @ 222 down to 195. Hang in there.0

I stand at 5'8 - and weighed in at 162lbs. On December 6th 2010. When I started this journey of the my new lifestyle.
I felt like a huge blob - I have always been 120 - 130lbs. I guess gettin' in a stable relationship feelin' comfortable and indulgin' in Alcohol, junkfood and weed since Sept 2006. Really took a toll on me.
Now I'm 146.8 as of today - and I feel so much feminine now. Who knows perhaps I will buy a sundress this year or wear skirts...I'm more of jeans and t-shirt girl...
It takes time...but you will get there xo0 -
YES!! Im 5"11, with broad shoulders and hips, which are even broader now ive had a baby, and large boobs. I lost 7 stone before i fell pregnant, and felt curvy and sexy - when i was at my heaviest i felt like a fat, big lumbering slob. Not feminine at all, and i only wore jeans and black jumpers. When i lost it all I discovered fashion and colour. Ive now got 2 stone to lose to get back to that, but already feeling more confident, feminine and trendy after losing 15lbs so far. xx0

I'm 5ft 8in, highest 290lbs. down to 264 atm...lowest I've been is 185 and back then I felt really girly...I know my heavest not so much but now even though its not my ideal weight I still force myself to wear more femine things and you'll be surprised the compliments you get because you are tall you get noticed more :P
I'm more muscle then fat always have been...but I have learned to wear the skirts the heels(usually puts me over 6ft) and do my hair to get the bad thinking out of my head and remember that no matter what I'm a sexy woman and I don't care what other people think.0 -
I'm 5'9", and began at 298, but honestly, I've always felt really girly. I still dress up and do all that girly stuff. BUT when I was in college, I weighed around 220 and went on diet pills. I got down to 180lbs, and I totally loved it. I wore dresses all the time. I definitely look forward to that! I still wear them now, but I just don't have the same comfort level. I guess the height thing doesn't bother me too much, because though I'm the tallest of my three sister, my cousins that I grew up with were all tall too, so it never felt odd. (One of my cousins- a FEMALE is 6'3"; I definitely feel short next to her!) The weight thing bothers me far more.0

I am 5'9" too and completely understand where you are coming from, as I think the rest of us here do! You will feel, girly again, and sexy too. I am finally starting to see some of the changes, as it seems to take forever when you are tall to see any weight loss. I am looking forward to seeing my clothes hang nicer without seeing the fatty bits popping through!0

I find this very strange. While I'm only an inch shorter than a lot of you..I'm 5' 8" ..I have never once in my life felt 'less' feminine or not 'girly'. Huh? Even when I gained weight. There is a picture in my profile- taken when I was 22 ish or so..I weigh around 118-125 in that photograph..feel free to look if you want. I look pretty thin...but that was my natural weight when younger.0

5'10" & know exactly what ya mean. I def. feel more feminine since losing the weight. :flowerforyou:0

I'm almost 5'9", and at 178, I feel a whole lot more feminine than at 225, my highest!0

Yes! I'm 5'10.5" and I've hovered around 180 since puberty. I'm athletic and kind of muscular, so I've always just felt big and guy-ish. My 36A chest certainly doesn't help (the only part of me that's ever been small :grumble: ). BUT I've dropped down to 165 in the past month, and amazingly, it seems to have all come off my waist, meaning that for the first time I actually HAVE a waist now. Ironically, losing weight has made me feel much curvier and more feminine.0

I have you all beat...I'm 6'4" and YES, i totally feel more girly. I grew up having to buy men's jeans, so now that more stores carry talls, I wear boot cut and that make a HUGE difference!! Flaunt it girl!!!0

5'10 & 3/4 lol Highest weight 324, Current Weight as of Jan 29th 227, Lowest weight...well I was always slim b4 the kids.
I've never really felt girlie. Growing up I never liked being tall. I played sports in school and just didn't want to dress up just to go to the gym twice a day. It just seemed to tiring to try to keep up with all of that. So sweats, jeans & t-shirts were my attire. To this day they still are basically. I have a lot dresses clothes, but I don't wear them. I don't think I can fit them lol.
When I get to my goal size I will be able to buy clothes at a better price so I just might start to treat myself better.0 -
I completely agree with everyone here! A lot of my friends are short little things, and I do feel like a bit of a giant when we go out. As the pounds have started coming off I have really started to enjoy wearing my LBD and heels much more often. I'm 5'10 by the way.0

I've always embraced being 5'10, in fact loved it. I wanted to model when I was younger and had offers but my parents wouldn't let me do it. I'm defintely a priss, but a tough priss if that makes any sense. I wear my jewelry, makeup and skimpy under garments. So even if I'm wearing a suit on the outside, underneath I'm feeling like a sexy woman. Of course I prefer being slim & trim as opposed to large and dumpy. My friends will tell you I'm a much happier person to be around when I'm looking good. All that being said, I love having long legs and waist. I hold my head high and I'm assertive and self confident!0

I'm 5ft 9inches and it's really not that tall! My sister is 4 years younger than me (I'm 28) and she is 6ft tall and has NEVER worn heels! I've always been slim and worn heels and felt sexy but gained weight during pregnancy and it killed my confidence. Now I'm almost at my pre pregnancy weight my confidence is back. It's all about confidence and feeling comfortable in your skin. If you view yourself as too fat or too skinny (yes it does work both ways, imagine no hips and no boobs...) you won't feel feminine. Hang in there and your confidence will come back.0
