Hello Everyone,
My name is Sarah. I am 31 years old. I was diagnosed when i was 14 ( but very sure i had it most of my life) if Hypothyroidism. I was treated for the common fix and sent on my way. Finally at 30 i took the time to say damn it there has to be more to life then feeling like crap all the time. I am tried of struggling with my weight and not having the quality of life that i have always wanted. I found a specialist for thyroid in Colorado Springs. Until than about a year ago I was only talking T4 ( Thyroid hormone replacement) but found out that all this time i was also low on T3 ( which is a thyroid hormone that is 10x as potent as the t4) It helps with the emotional and physical effects of the disiease. I also found out that over the years of not being diagnosed right I had aquired Metabolic Syndrome, Insulin resistance, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
As some of you who are fighting these things understand how hard it is to love a normal life with all of these conditions on top of eachother. Loosing weight is whats going to help it but the diseases make it almost imposible to get rid of the weight.
But i am here to challenge that. My meds have made me feel so much better and i am on the mission to get healthy. To have the life that i always wanted. and be the person that is screaming from the inside out....and not the sad depressed , frustrated person from my outside.

Thanks so much. sorry for all the typo's in that post heheh. congrats on your 22lbs lost. I am doing really good right now. I am determined to get my self out of being a candidate for pre diabetes and get my self where i want and be healthy. I am doing personal training and working out on my own 4 hours a week. I am also a massage therapist as well. I just feel so good about what i am doing and grateful for my doctor who helped me find out what was stopping me from losing weight. because i know how hard it is to work out hard and not lose anything for years!. thank you for the kind words and i plan on fighting til the end!0

Hi Stephanie,
I definitely know how it is. I have had thyroid issues pretty much since birth. It's very rare but i know how hard it is. That no one seems to want to help you and its good that its been found out as soon as possible before you get too much over weight. my biggest has been 250lb. which is when i found MFP. i am now down to 241 and going to continue to lose til i am 140lbs. I just needed the right tools to get me there. are you in colorado or no?0
