I had to do it! I started out at 1200 calories, then went to 1400. Working out daily and burning 300 calories and eating that back I was still starving at the end of the day! Is it terribly horrible to up them to 1650? I am 5'7" and currently weight 141. I am trying to get to 128 then slowly work back to a final weight of 134 and stay steady there! I am not in a huge hurry to do it either!

I'm similar in height and weight (in the 140's). I've been bouncing back and forth for a couple of months with the same 3-4 lbs. I readjusted to lose 1/2 pond a week and it adjusted my daily calories to 1600 a day. I think that 1650 is good, you'll never get to where you want to be if you're starving everyday.
  • I dont know, but I would be interested in the replies. Have you ever figured out your BMR? we are close in weight and height and my BMR is actually 1494 (or close to that) but MFP has it set for 1200 cals a day.

I don't understand why you want to get to 128 if your goal is to stay at 134. It's going to be really tough to get that low, and apparently will serve no purpose in the long run since you don't plan to stay there. We are the same height, and I already have a "technically healthy" BMI at 157 lbs. (just under 25, though it does not look good on me at all). My goal is 135, similar to yours. I read this post because I just finished modifying my goals so I only lose a half pound a week but can eat more. I figure better to plan to lose more slowly than say "screw it" a lot because I can't stay under 1270 without getting hunger headaches, and being disappointed all the time because I haven't met my pound-a-week goal. Slow and steady is more likely to be sustainable since you are already pretty thin.
