Does anyone have any recipes for an energy boost bar?

Hey,

Wondered if anyone had a recipe for an energy bar I could use before going to the gym? They are so expensive and I would rather make my own if I can.

Would also be good if they could be stored in the freezer so I can make a big batch then defrost as I need them.

Thanks in advance!

The ones on this page are probably pretty good as energy bars - high in protein from the nuts and natural sugar from the fruit. I made these this afternoon and they're yummy

They do look lovely! Will make them for sure!
  • In brief:
What i do for bars is:

Take nuts and old fashioned oats, put on cookie sheet in the oven bake a bit, till oats start to brown.

Then in a mixer: 1/2 peanut butter, 1/2 honey, and mix

Add dried fruit, and the nuts and oats, mix very well...

Put back onto cookie sheet, and back into oven, bake 20-40 mins.

It's natural, nuts provide protien, and honey, dried fruit and especially the while grain of the oats give energy.

Also, you could add supplements as well...

    Best luck!

eatingwell.com has a bunch of recipes for energy bars, just search it and they should pop up. I haven't made anything on their site that I haven't liked!
