I grew up hating mushrooms. I was also told there is no point in eating them because they contain no nutrition what so ever.

I do eat them in my salads now. I still think they taste like dirt but I eat them!

    Great to know! Thanks!

Selenium is also great for skin, so i've been trying to up my selenium intake for that, didn't realise mushrooms were such a good provider! They're so easy to throw in almost any meal too!
  • I wasn't a fan of mushrooms growing up but I LOVE them now (sauteed, roasted, grilled...yum). However, I rarely eat them raw so you won't see them on my spinach salad. And I never eat canned mushrooms.

I don't eat any canned veggies anymore. And those canned mushrooms are the reason I didn't like them until now. Fresh is definitely better even though they have that 'earthy' flavor also know as 'dirt'.

Love my mushrooms. Put baby bella's or whites on my spinach salad, grind them up to use in place of bread crumbs for meat loaf or other dishes needing bread crumb filler, always have them in my spaghetti sauces, and even make a healthy stuffed mushroom cap appetizer when I grill...even when I splurge and have a 2 whole egg omelet, mushrooms are included.

So much better than white bread, croutons, or flour when you can substitute with mushrooms. Best part- most people can't taste the difference (good for picky eaters)

I love mushrooms any time and prepared any way. I eat them a lot because I know they are practically void of calories, but it was nice to see they are actually beneficial!

If you saute mushrooms with a little olive oil, fresh garlic, splash of worshester sauce and sliced onion, they are amazingly delish over a steak or chicken!
