Spin?

What do you guys enter for spin class? I just joined, and we're doing 20-25 minutes of cycling followed by 20-25min of stretching... how would I input that?

  • I enter it as Cycling - Very vigorous for the amount of time I did it for.

    Great question. I think a good rule of thumb is to estimate 7-10 calories per minute of spinning depending upon how intense your sessions are. For example...

    Moderately intense: 25 min X 7 cal/min = 175 calories
    Very intense: 25 min X 10 cal/min = 250 calories

    Again, this is just a rule of thumb and by no means scientific. To be even safer, lower your estimate...that way your numbers may not look like lots of calories are being burned, but your weigh-ins will suggest otherwise.
