Hi! I am new and trying to figure everything out still, but this is my third day on the website and I LOVE it. I am a two time WW dropout, and in general not a good dieter at all. I do however enjoy tracking everything on my phone on the mfp app. I think it makes me more aware before I eat something to add that in to my calorie counter. And yesterday, it even helped me to change a few things that I wanted to eat to make better choices. I need to make this change for myself and my kids. I want to be healthy for them. I think what makes me want to make this change right now is that when I see the little bmi tool and it says I am obese. I hate that word. Also, when I was at a party the other night, a good friend said to me "Well, if you want to continue to be big your whole life, that's your choice." as I had a plate of food in my hand. To be honest it stung. (And maybe I should start considering finding a new friend, right? ) Anyway, I haven't taken any before pictures yet. I plan to do that one day this week, and finish up my profile on here, but in the meantime I would love to find some accountability buddies.
I am a total stress eater. I go to food for comfort and I see that now, where as before I just used the "I like food" excuse. I am trying to make better choices in my life, I drink a lot of pop and tea throughout the day. I have cut out artificial sweetners from my diet (I was going through almost a box of 200 a week, by myself, and that is just insanity!) and I have cut out regular pop. In one week I lost 2 lbs. I would like to comfortably wear jeans again. I spend most of my days in yoga or sweatpants. Also, I work at a daycare so I find myself snacking more throughout the day instead of eating me actual meals. I have been packing my lunch these last few days and I now feel so much better at the end of the day instead of sluggish. I realize now that I can love food, but that I can also make wise choices about what I put in my body.
I am looking forward to meeting new people on here and getting some good advice and tips. I like that I don't have to go through this alone. Oh, and at the risk of my own total embarasment , and because I just don't ever tell anyone how much I weigh, my starting weight is 218lbs. My goal weight is 150lbs. Thank you to those of you who take the time out to read my ramblings. I look forward to this journey!

Welcome to a great place for support and encouragement. The website helps keep you accountable for what you are doing and I have found that it really helps keep you motivated to eat and exercise. It also helps me to acknowledge my small everyday victories when I look back at it. I LOVE that!
I just took my before pictures last night and posted them this morning. It's very humbling and I want to post better pictures soon....another motivator for me.
Good Luck on your journey! Feel free to add me if you like.0 -
