3.25 inches already?!

I had my second son in December and got the "all clear" from my doctor about 2 weeks ago. Monday I was finally motivated enough to start an every day 30min (at least) workout routine. I'm eating fairly healthy but not my best, yet... Small steps.
Anyway, I took measurements Monday .. and I decided to measure my waist today just to see if there was a difference b/c I knew if I was going to see one it'd only be in my waist... Well, I lost an inch in my waist already, plus another 2.25 inches all over.. With a total loss of 3.25 inches all over...
Is this even possible?! I mean, obviously it is, I measured in the same places.. I even moved the tape measure around to different places to try and make it equal the higher measurements in case I had it in the wrong place.. NOPE! Those inches are gone..
How? Is it the water weight?

Great job. Lost inches are great. Keep up the good work. Even if it is the water weight, it's gone so that is wonderful.0

I would say it's probably a combination of water weight and your muscles still getting back into shape after having the baby. I know it took mine a while to look normal. But either way, congratulations on the inches!

Thanks y'all! I'm so glad they are gone.. I never want to see them back (except for maybe in my stomach if we ever have another kid! lol.. that's the ONLY exception to having a stomach this big around!) The high initial losses keep me motivated to keep on going!0
