What to do next?

I am currently on Day 45 of Power 90 and I am exploring different options as to what to do next.

I have looked at Turbo Jam previews and I like the style but I am confused on how many DVD's there are. I am as equally confused about P90X.

I have a lot of fat to still burn and although I do love P90 I don't feel like I'm getting a "Great" fat burn. I am noticing some positive changes in my body and want to ensure I continue on this path.

I want to have a lean, trim body. I'm not looking to bulk up in any form.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tan

You may want to try insanity if you are looking for weight loss. P90X will do some of that but is mostly to get you ripped, as it has a strong focus on strength training.

30 Day Shred as well...not at all about bulking up but about toning and burning fat. Once you complete the first 30 days and go through the 3 levels, you can start back at the beginning and repeat the process with workout 1 again!
  • Turbofire is excellent for blasting and burning calories (I have logged up to 1000 cal burned in 1 hr!!) If you like the "kickboxing/dancey" type workouts, go for it! I love Slim in 6 and Slim Series by Debbie Siebers!! Brazil Butt Lift is a great toning and calorie burning workout as well... Good Luck! :)

The myth of women bulking up will most likely never die. It's nearly impossible for a woman who's not taking supplements and eating far over their calorie maintenance level to bulk! In addition to really bulk up, it takes lifting extremely heavy weights and a large portion of P90X/Insanity/Turbo Fire is body weight only. I work with primarily female clients as a trainer and seriously - there is no danger of bulking up :) Stick with P90 through the first 90 days, many of the changes come post day 50 for men and even later for many women.

If you want, add some cardio to it as doubles to get more of a burn if you have a lot to lose, but the system does work! It's brilliant actually!

The bigger sets (Insanity/Turbo Fire/P90X) come with 12 workouts each. There's more of a rotation and less repeats. This way, you don't get bored, and you keep your body guessing.

    Thanks for the replies.

I like how P90 is a set routine. It's easy for me to follow and committ to. I work full time and have 2 children that keep me busy so routine is key. I don't want to have to think too much about what routine I am going to do. This seems to be a bit of my stumbling block. Turbo Jam has several DVD's. P90X has several more. I like simple.

Has anyone been working on the P90 Master Series?

I don't need something that gives me a major calorie burn as I have been able to maintain my calorie intake and often find it difficult to eat all my exercise calories (major issue). So, although I'm looking to burn fat and lose another 15lbs doesn't mean I want to necessarily burn 1000 calories a day.

I guess there is no simple answer. It's something I need to decide on soon as I only have 45 days left of P90 and I don't really want any time off in between.

    I'm still confused lol

P90X is a set routine - it's super easy to just follow the schedule.

    Mon: Chest/Back + Abs
    Tue: Plyo
    Wed: Shoulders/Arms + Abs
    Thu: Yoga
    Fri: Legs/Back + Abs
    Sat: Kenpo Cardio
    Sun: Rest or X Stretch

That's the first month - the second month has a different order, but it's again, easy to just follow.
