need diet tips!

Hey! I just finally managed to control and decided to diet starting from yesterday. Trying to not go above 400 cals a day:)

    Ummmm.... you need at least 1200.
    400 will cause muscle break down and health issues

    I reccomend just following the plan mfp will set up for you

    Stay above 1200 or you will save all your calories to prevent starvation. Add exercise to give you more deficit.
  • i woul dnot even try that....you will put your body into starvation mode and will store all calories as fat. you need a minimum of 1200 to keep body functions normal. in crease daily activity and eat a healthy balanced menu. concentrate on food with the most bang for the buck, so to speak.
  • I agree with the others...MFP sets up the best plan! I used to have an ED and eat 500 cals a day...but Ive lost more weight, kept it off, and look much healthier eating 1400 cals a day! Your weight will fall off once you start getting into the program!
  • Oo thnx guys! But even if I eat normally my cals go upto only 800 or if I'm eating out then max 1000. N instead I hv only been maintaining or gaining weight. And due to my schedules i wudnt be able to keep up diet plans and nor have much time to excersise :/

    I know this will sound crazy to you, but the reason you're gaining weight is because you aren't eating enough! Your body is storing all the nutrients it can get because you aren't fueling it enough. Trust in the program and know that if you eat at least 1200 calories that you will lose the weight!

    I sometimes like to think of it as a game. Try to eat atleast 5 servings of fruits and/or vegatables a day, 2-3 servings of dairy, and at least 6 glasses of water (preferably 8 glasses). If you can get all of this in a day then you're off to a good start. If you're not getting these servings in then you're not eating healthy. Getting in all these servings and eating 5-6 small meals a day will make you hungrier because your body will come out of that starvation mode! Try it, as hard as it might be! It will pay off! :)
  • K yea tt makes sense:/ but if i eat tt much i think i would feel really full. But since Everyones telling me I think I should eat atleast 1200 cals a day. Atleast try out fr a week n see hw it goes. But sry I dun understand hw cme ppl do crash diets or even other diet plans n all tt require to eat less n they lose weight?

  • one of the hardest things is to tell a woman to eat to lose weight. body and organ function will be compromised. some of the damage will be cumulative----i mean it can not be undone. be kind to your body and give it quality fuel to burn and it will reward you in kind. give the body time to adjust to the new program.....it does take some time
