I need to loose 100lbs. Ive not always been big, but since I got married and had 2 kids that are 11 months apart that helped keep on the pounds. I just dont know where to start. From breakfast to dawn, to exercising. I have found that I really enjoy riding my bike. I dont feel that is a really good workout vs walking or ATTEMPTING to jog. I totally suck at trying to figure out what to eat. Im not a big breakfast fan, i would just rather stick to my coffee and milk in the morning. I just need some help. Im tired of sittin on my *kitten* when my daughters are wanting to run around and play...

Hello!!!!
Glad you joined Everyone says how important breakfast is, and i say i have to agree!!! When i eat breakfast i feel better!!! I eat somedays before working out, some days after, depending on how i feel in the am....I eat about 250 calories, which could be cereal and fruit, oatmeal and fruit, banana with peanut butter and whole wheat bread...and of course coffee!!!
I like to ride my bike as well!!! I also strength train 3 days a week.....muscle burns calories!!!
It is also important to eat snacks before lunch and dinner so you aren't "starving" and over-eat!! There are lots of great recipes members have posted on this site!!!! Good Luck and whenever you have a question feel free to ask, eveyone here is AWESOME!!!!! :flowerforyou: Cara0 -
Oh yeah, I had to start with breakfast too. I actually gagged the 1st 2 days I tried to eat. I would not be hungry until 12-1 pm, so I wouldnt eat.
I started with something small, to get my body used to having the fuel to burn in the morning.
They have these little yogurt drinks with probiotic in them. They are 3 oz and 90 calories. I drank one every morning for a week or two.
Then I added a piece of fruit. Then a bowl of special k high protien with the fruit in it.
Now I cant wait for breakfast.
Here is how it was explained to me.
Our bodies need fuel to function, just like a fire. If you make a fire at night with all the big fat logs, it will keep you warm all night. But when you awake in the morning it is down to just embers, barely giving off any heat at all. You must stoke the fire and add new fuel and it will burn like crazy.
This is what happens to our bodies each morning. We get up, there is no fuel, we add gasoline (coffee) thinking this is going to get things moving. And it does for an hour or so but then we are back to being sluggish and tired. Why, because we never stoked that fire.
I wish you luck on this journey. I know you can do it!:flowerforyou:0 -
Welcome to MFP!!! You will love it here!!
Where to start? One bite at a time...
I asked that same question just a few months ago. My husband looked at me and asked, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time."
So make tiny goals each week and master those, and reach for new goals the next week. Pretty soon you will be 20 steps into your goal and be well on your way!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! Good luck friend!

Breakfast was a killer for me too, but I can tell you I've seen better results since I do eat breakfast. Every morning I either eat 2 eggs or a bowl of oatmeal with bananas. Both help keep you full longer and help keeps your blood sugar more stable through out the day, which also helps with weight loss. Here's the deal you have to make the commitment and stick with it. It might take a while to see results, but you will see results if you stick with it.
Welcome aboard. If you have any questions just ask. Unless you have a question about something Maximus posts then don't ask, It's a trap.0 -
One of the best things you can do for yourself is educate yourself. Read articles online (heck, on this site!)... subscribe to a health/nutrition magazine... etc etc etc. Just get the facts and try not to be mislead by fads. You can do it! :flowerforyou:0
