Low Cal Food Choices

Options
I figured I would post a message about some of your low calorie favorite brands- not just for the calories but for the taste! I have tried the Walden Farms No Calorie Ranch- bleh! I would much rather factor the calories for Fat Free Ranch into my day than eat that stuff. Everyone has their own tastes, but I think it will be interesting to see what favorites people have.

Some of my favorites and staples in the house:

Newman's Own Light Wheat Bread- 35 calories a slice
Babybel light cheese- 50 calories
Sargento Reduced Fat Cheese Sticks- 60 calories
Melba Toast (instead of crackers)- 60 calories for 3 large crackers
Laughing Cow Light Wedges- 35 calories
White Cheddar Rice Cakes (good replacement to popcorn)- 45 calories
Hebrew National Fat Free Hot Dogs (all beef I think)- 40 calories
Royal Asia Shrimp Wonton Soup (Frozen in bowl from BJ's Wholesale) - 80 calories
Peter Pan Whipped Peanut Butter with 1/3 Less Sugar - 75 calories for 1 tbsp- a little goes a longer way since it's whipped and speads easier

I lost 30 lbs prior to joining MFP- goal weight is 135 at 5'5"

I am a junk food-a-holic so my biggest obstacle when dieting tends to me filling that craving. Of course, they shouldn't be eaten on a daily basis but here are some of the items that do that for me.
Skinny Cow- my faves are Mint and Vanilla 140 Cal
Hungry-Girl.com Yum Yum Brownie Muffins 185 Cal
Orville Redenbacher's 100 Calorie Mini Bags - Butter Popcorn and Kettle Corn
Fig Newtons-Fat Free 2 cookies for 90 Cal
    Craisins 1/3 Cup 130 Calories

I have been mixing reduced sugar peanut butter with reduced fat cream cheese and a little splenda and spreading it on toasted whole wheat pitas, english muffins, etc. I use 2x the cream cheese to peanut butter. It is so good and it is similar to the peanut butter cream cheese from Trader Joe's that I used to slather on bagels.

These are awesome- keep them coming!

Something I tried last night that was YUM!

Newman's Own 35 Cal wheat bread with a few sprays of Zero Calorie Butter Spray, spinkle of Truvia sweetner (0 cals) and a sprinkle of cinnamon. It is sometimes easier to find things that are fulfilling, nutritious and a good way to spend your calories (high fiber, high protein, etc.) but it's nice to hear what shortcuts people have for some low calorie snack options.
