Howdy folks!

Yesterday was walking. Today I hope to do weights and yoga as well. I have two more days of diet before husband and I take our "week at home" vacation. I won't be logging during that time, but we have tons of exercise in store for us, and I'll still check in with y'all. I hope it doesn't get too hot.

If I get any news from the doctor today, I'll check back later and give an update.

Happy Workouts!

Mary

Today is bikram (at noon, which is a small class. . .so I'm hoping for some adjustments to make sure my postures are good. .. .my evening class has gotten packed).

Then, lunch and working for the rest of the day. I've (hopefully. . .waiting for words from my editors) finished two re-writes, so now it's on to the third (and last. . . for now. . .). Oh, and yeah. . . I also have to learn french. My french class, which I thought was "basic" is basic if you already. . .sort of know french. (it's a class about how to translate from french to english) So, now I have a fun new hobby. (because, I'm just not busy enough!):noway:

Happy workouts, ladies. . .and Mary I hope the visit to the doctor is helpful. Doctor visits can be either enlightening or frustrating. . .

Mary, please let us know about your doctor visit. I hope they have some news for you!

Vivia, how do you managed to get it all in? I have one kid and I don't work and I still have no idea where my days go! What happens when #2 comes along? (Not yet, but soon!) Less of me I guess. lol

I did 125 push ups, week 5 day 2 level 1. I sure hope I can move on to week 6 next Monday!
Just walked about 4 miles. I need to do some cleaning but don't know if I'll make it that far. Feeling lazy now. Thankfully meals are leftovers so no cooking. I do have to figure out a grocery list though. Not my favorite thing! I feel like I just did it! Maybe I should do it every two weeks and still shop once a week? I don't like doing it. I want to do nutrisystem for the whole family so I don't have to worry about it!
Gotta drink my water and watch biggest loser today! Not much else going on!
    Have a great day!

  • Hi ladies. I just realized that I haven't posted since Sunday. I've been enjoying the good weather(I LOVE FALL) and just plain forgot! That doesn't mean that I don't think of each of you daily:heart:

I've been keeping up with Turbo Jam and today I went for a 3 mile walk during a trip to the library. I seem to have lost my last pound somewhere-so now the fear sets in. How do I figure out how much to eat....so I can stay where I am and continue with my exercise....the whole concept is terrifying to me!

    Happy workouts all!

CONGRATULATIONS, JULIE! You must feel great. Don't panic! I have been thinking the same thing - that I'm not quite sure what I'll do once I'm not trying to lose anymore. I guess I would suggest adding in the extra calories gradually, maybe an extra 100 a day to start?

I just got finished donating blood - yay! I was a bit worried about it because I am a REALLY hard stick and oftentimes they miss my vein or the blood stops flowing before getting a full pint... but I warned the nurse and she did an awesome job. So no exercise for me today - I am thinking pushups are probably not a good idea.

That was exactly what I was going to say. . .I'm on the verge of officially going to maintenance, but it's scary. . .I'm still at a 250 a day deficit, under the theory it will help me lose the last bit of body fat I want to. Then, I think I'm going to start upping my calories by 100 a day for a week or two, but the scary part of that is I guess you just keep upping until you gain, and then cut back again? Oof. It's so hard to find a balance. . .

Oh and speaking of finding a balance. . .I "bonked" in bikram today. All of a sudden, I was sitting down on my mat and not sure how I got there. For about 15 minutes, everything was very sparkly. . .not good. So, I guess more carbs at breakfast (I just had a protein shake, since I didn't want to be too full in class. . .) next time I got to my 12 class. I haven't bonked in a long time (I did it once in a spin class a while back) and it is very, very not pleasant! I felt like an idiot. (I must remember that calories = energy  )

    Congrats Julie! That's wonderful!
CP, yeah I think you should wait on the push ups. lol! I can just see blood squirting...okay too gruesome!

I am no where near my goal but I have been wondering about my calories and what to do too. I could very well be preggo this month (my girls are really hurting badly this week!), so I've started wondering if I find out in the next week or so that I AM pregnant, do I immediately up my cals? Do I do it all at once or slowly? Do I got to maintenance or is that enough or too much? So in a way I am starting to feel the pressure but for different reasons. I am sure I will be piling on the questions pretty soon. I plan to stay with the site if I am because even though I will be getting bigger I don't want to get TOO big! Of course I will let you all know when I find out. I'm not late yet so it could all be hormones.
Okay, I'm done talking about myself! I hope for you ladies that are going to maintenance that it is an easy transition with no weight gain, and for the rest of us to be able to drop some pounds this week! :flowerforyou:

Doc mentioned gallstones. Going for an ultrasound Friday.

Otherwise healthy. Go the dietitian's phone number as well. After the stomach gets settled, will go see her.

Skipping weights again. I just can't think that ab exercises would be pleasant.

Yeah, squirting blood is not on the agenda - gross. But, the other good thing about donating was that I kinda got a free iron check - it has to be 12.5 in order to donate, and mine was 15.2, which she said was "great". I'm not sure if they are testing ferritin or what. My parents always used to make me get my iron checked (paranoid about vegetarianism) when I was a teenager and I usually was fine, but I know those red blood cells help me out while exercising so it's nice to know I'm still okay in that regard.

Mary - bummer. Keep us posted on the ultrasound! For me, it was a relief just to have a diagnosis. Glad everything else was fine. :flowerforyou:

Viv - sorry you bonked. Yikes! Definitely eat a bit more next time. I sometimes get woozy in a hot shower after exercise, so I think I would definitely fall over in bikram, regardless!

Hope you don't have the "drink a gallon of water" and then don't pee ultrasound. ..do you?
