I recently moved here, about 3 weeks ago, just wondering if any of ya'll are from the great state of LA

    My family is originally from Louisiana and I live about 16 miles from the state line in Mississippi. I have family in Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

    Really?! Small, big world! We LOVE it here!!! Everyone we've talked to that has relocated here has said the same thing, they came and never left. I'm worried about hurricane season though, I know that we're inland but I've never lived in the south so I have no idea what to expect!

    I'm just enjoying the weather and looking for a job right now.

    Welcome!!! I've lived in Louisiana all my life and grew up even further south than Lafayette. Yes the hurricanes can be worrisome but it seems like no matter where you live you can face crazy weather conditions (tornadoes, snow storms, earthquakes, etc). At least with the hurricanes you have sufficient warning and know to take precaution!

    What exercises are you in to? Are you a member of a local gym? If you like Zumba one of the local churches has Zumba classes I attend often.

    I'm doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred right now. I'll be on Day 4 tomorrow. I'm thinking of joining Planet Fitness for some extra workouts that aren't as intense.

    Lemme know how your like it ;) Don't know anything about Planet Fitness but I've heard they are really affordable :)

    I was at Planet Fitness for over a year and the gym atmosphere is alright...at least at the one here it is. I am no longer a member there because I wasn't allowed to hire my own personal trainer, so I joined a CrossFit gym.

    Lafayette, LA here too...never been to a planet fitness either. I go to a locally owned place that is 5 minutes from my house so I have noooo excuse not to go. Feel free to add me too :)

    I'm close to Baton Rouge but originally from the Alexandria area. I have lived here my entire life and love it!
