So for the past few weeks I've been exercising like a maniac and netting 1200-1300 cals a day. I gained 3lbs! So the last 2 days I didn't workout at all and didn't watch my calories. I lost 2lbs! What is going on????? I'm so confused right now!:noway: :noway:

do not weigh your self every day. only once a week, in the morning after you go to the restroom, on the same day, at the same time, every time. you can weigh in the morning and by evening you will have gained 5 lbs but when you get up the next morning it will all be gone. you are going to drive yourself crazy and mess up your journey.
plus if you are gaining muscle you may not loss weight for a week or two then all of a sudden it just drop off.
Stay on track.0 -
I'm having the same problem. My calorie burned goal was 660 for the week, and this week I double that at 1270 and weighed in this morning and I had gained almost 2lbs. yesterday I was 117.4 and today 118.8. It's difficult to lose weight and before I never had a problem!! I know how you feel though.0

I try not to focus on weight lost but inches instead, or how I am looking. Weight is just a number. For the first two months of exercising I gained weight too, but boy do I look much thinner and toned! Muscle weighs more than fat: that means that a pound of muscle is much denser, occupying a much SMALLER area, than a pound of fat! So keep at it0

I started working with a trainer three times a week and she asked me to not weigh myself more than 1 to 2 times a month. She said she wants me to rely on my clothing rather than the scale because clothes don't lie. A scale may say you gained a pound or two or not lose at all but the scale will not tell you how many inches you have lost. Your clothes will.0

Definitely keep the weigh-ins to nomore than once a week, little to no clothes on, before eating and drinking anything and after going to the bathroom.
You should also give yourself a rest day. Your body, scale and MEASURING TAPE will love you for that.. trust me!
Start measuring yourself! You are gaining muscle so the scale will go the opposite direction. Inches will go down more than the numbers on the scale.0 -
Invest in a body fat caliper. It's all about your body fat percentage, not your weight. They are about $20. It's more important to lose body fat than losing body weight. You have to lift weights and do cardio in order to lose body fat. The more you lift weights and the heavier you lift, you need to up your protein. Protein fuels the muscles. After a good weight lifting work out be sure to get that protein in within a half an hour.0
