*What is your biggest motivation and why?*

My biggest motivation for losing weight and changing the way I look is obviously to be healthier and kinder to my body but my boyfriend and I really want to head back to Zante in June and the way I feel now, there is no way I will set foot outside in a bikini/holiday clothes.
I love the resort we go to and last time we went I was 14 stone 11lb and happy with how I looked. I could have done with losing another half a stone but I was generally satisfied.
Now Im at 18 stone 3 lb and the thought of being semi naked around the pool is terrifying.
This is what I will be thinking about when I feel like I cannot push myself for that extra 5 minutes on the cross trainer, or when I feel like eating a chocolate bar instead of a yoghurt.

What is your biggest motivation and why?

i would of said b/f, but we recently broke up, now I would say him even more :D Check out what you are missing attitude. My kids obviously, defo my oldest, she is learning how to be healthy and to have a slim mummy will help a lot. The b/f before last, told me he doesnt like fat girls like me, that always pops in my head when I can no longer keep going. I have never been wore a bikini in my life, I have been thin, but younger and insecure. I will be in one by summer hopefully.

someone telling you things like that is not the sort of person you need in your life! I can see how it would help you from a motivational perspective but other than that, I wouldnt have listened. Everyone deserves better than to be told that :)

Of course, my husband and kids are my main motivation. But I'm a visual person so I took a "before" picture of myself at my heaviest and made it my computer wallpaper. Every time I check my email or log in here, I see that picture.I HATE it!! But It helps keep me focused especially on those days I don't feel like exercising.

I have just done that tonight and honestly can't bear to even look at the picture - its disgusting and I hate it! Hopefully it will help. Not sure if I am brave enough to use it as a homescreen wallpaper just yet....... looking at it constantly will probably upset me :( BUT at least I am doing something to change that...... I guess the fridge is the best place to put it............

My biggest motivation is being able to walk in the street without thinking that everyone is staring at me because Im fat. I look 10 years older and feel about 20 years older, If I dont stop this now I WILL be old and would have missed out on so much. So when I wake up in the morning and dont feel like going to the gym I must think to myself 'you are wasting your life GET UP and GET GOING.

My biggest motivation a year ago when I first started was just to look better. I was "healthy" even when I was big (like no high blood pressure or diabetes etc) I was just out of shape so I did it for mostly just for vanity.

Now though I am having a hard time figuring out my motivation. I have no weddings to go to this year (yet) and no vacations planned. I'm already at a nice weight although I'm nowhere near where I wanna be.

This year my motivation was to build muscle and work on getting rid of my last 40+ lbs but I'm having a hard time since I have no set goal to remind myself of when I wanna cheat or quit.

so how do you manage? Are you actively trying to lose weight?
do you think having something booked or something planned helps you?
I know that if I wasnt thinking about holiday then I wouldnt be half as motivated as I am........

The adult in me wants to be healthy and have energy to keep up with my children. The kid in me is all about the vanity. She wants to be the woman that you see in the store and hate thinking, "There is no way she could have had those 4 kids." I love being a MOM but I don't want to look like one! I'm afraid that my motivation comes much more from the kid in me than the adult.

Hey, it doesnt matter where it comes from - at least you have it. I know a lot of people that are now overweight but just choose to do nothing about it as they have no energy/motivation and I got sick of being one of those people.
I totally know what you mean when you see another woman and think 'wow, how can she look that great if she is currently wolfing down a cheeseburger' haha. I want to be able to actually go into a clothes shop and pick something pretty from a rail rather than have to go to the back of the shop to find the oversized not so pretty stuff.
