Okay, for the 2weeks i've been sick :( and have worked out barely but i have been eating just what i need to be eating(calories). And yesterday i had a good day of eating and the next morning i check my weight and it says i went up 3-4 pounds...

I did eat soup yesterday for my thoart, it did say it had less salt , is this the cause? like is it water weight? :( i hope.

It could be salt. Drink alot of water and up your workout today. Don't sweat over what the scale says on one day. How do your clothes feel? How do you feel? The scale is only one measure.

I feel pretty small today. Like not bloated either.
  • Yeah, it's TOTALLY water weight. Even low sodium soup can't prevent water weight sometimes. I don't even LIKE salt very much, and yet I gain about 2-3 pounds every 28 days, if you know what I mean. Being sick may just be messing with you, but it's NOT fat. It is mathematically impossible. Perhaps it's constipation, too. But most likely water.

Most likely water retention - maybe from excess sodium. It's normal. Especially if you've been sick. My eating habits change a little over the weekend so my weight goes up a bit. Usually by Wednesday I'm back to normal and that's the day I can tell if I've lost weight in the past week. What's funny is once it hits that it sticks until Sunday morning. I'm at a healthy weight and weigh everyday to see the fluctuation patterns. There really is a pretty steady pattern.

I was working with a trainer who was gathering info, so he was taking measurements and asking me to engage in some activity and blah, blah, blah. He kept asking me to use two different sets of scales. I asked him what the difference was between them and he said "oh nothing, but lady your weight has gone up and down three pounds in the last three hours. I needed to be sure my scale was functioning properly." LOL
I guess we are in for the long haul and can't fret over the short one.

I was sick for 3 weeks in January. On the 2 days I didn't eat I was down a pound or 2. But when I finally bounced back it took forever to start losing again. When your body is sick for more than a day or two, it affects your whole system. Even though you feel better, it takes a while for your system to start working properly again. I am happy to say I have dropped another 5 pounds since then. Just do all the right things and be patient.

Something else I learned, when you're burning fat, your fat releases toxins into your body, making you more vulnerable. So proper nutrition is even more important to keep you healthy. I never knew fat stored toxins before I was on this site.

Good luck with your continued success.
