Does it taste like regular milk? Does it taste like regular milk with a hint of almond?
How does it compare to regular milk??
Why does everyone seem to drink it around here?

Sweeter.
I prefer Vanilla flavored. Don't have to worry about the issues some people have dealing with soy milk.
I use it b/c I can't have dairy with my medication. It's also fewer calories,0 -
its milk like, so you can eat it with cereal and get a low cal breakfast in. 2% Milk has 120 cal, almond milk only has 40-60 cal.0

I've tried soy, rice, coconut, and almond milk. To me, almond milk tastes the closest to moo juice. Get the unsweetened kind if you're thinking about it.0

I don't think it tastes like almonds. I drink the unsweetened vanilla and I find it very close to regular milk. I can't drink cow milk any more due to stomach problems. The chocolate almond milk is great too!
Rice milk is thin, I'm not a fan of using it for cereal but it's great for smoothies. It's sweeter than almond.
Soy milk is good too (Silk is the best brand), but I also can't digest soy.0 -
I like almond milk a lot!! It tastes like skim milk with a nutty taste. I like it because it's non dairy plus it's comparable in calcium and vit D levels as other milks. Plus, it's so much lower in calories, which is a major benefit. One cup of unsweetened Almond Breeze is just 40 calories, compared to 90 calories for soy or skim milk.
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article about how it's growing in popularity, and provides a great comparison at the end of different types of milk: almond, soy, rice, coconut, and cow:

Try it and see if you like it!0 -
It doesn't taste anything like milk. It's like veggie burgers. They taste NOTHING like beef burgers BUT they are delicious all on their own. That's true for most mock meats, I find. As for almond milk, the sweetened variety is such a treat! Unsweetened is perfect for cooking! You'll never know the difference.
I started drinking almond and soy about 12 years ago after being on a teenage PETA kick. I've since reintroduced a little meat into my diet but I just can't drink milk. It tastes salty now and the whole "pus" thing just really makes me wanna hurl.
There's nothing like sweetened almond milk in cereal. So delish! I'm sure someone can weigh in on the nutritional pluses. I just do it for the taste! Yummy!0 -
I use it with my Chocolate Whey Protein - it tastes like a Chocolate milk shake but much much healthier. The brand I buy is Silk which is only 60 cals per glass. I think you will like it - give it a try!
Cheers and Good Health,

I use the vanilla and the chocolate is wonderful0

I have used both Almond milk and Soy milk. I believe the Almond milk is healthier than soy mainly because sometimes soy products are not "completely" organic or natural so they can receive the same "boosters" as other produce and meat products. It doesn't taste like dairy milk, but it doesn't taste bad either. I have used it in cereal and just to drink by itself. Sometimes I buy Lactaid milk (skim version) if I want more of that familiar milk taste, but I am beginning to prefer the Almond milk to the soy and/or lactaid milk.
Hope this helps!0 -
Once I tasted almond milk I never wanted cow's milk ever again. It doesn't taste the same. To me it's BETTER but ymmv0

Well, I can only speak for myself...I don't drink it plain, so it is hard for me to explain what it tastes like. I buy the Almond Breeze Unsweetened for my cereal. It is 40 calories per cup, and I only use 1/2 cup. It is definitely not as thin and watery as skim milk, and I think it adds a bit of "richness". I don't cook much that uses milk, but when I do, I use it (mashed potatoes, for example) , and it saves a few calories. And finally, although it is a little more expensive, I buy the one that doesn't need to be refrigerated until it is opened. That way, I never run out when I need it.0

i can taste the almondeyness (if that is a word) of it. but i like that. i do prefer the sweetened vanilla, just because i find the unsweetened too bland. it works great in my matcha smoothies i make, just a bit of sweetness, and not so vanilla-y that it overpowers the matcha tea flavour. but i also like it with cereal. i do find that it makes my cereal get soggier faster, so i gotta eat it fast, but that's just me. i hate soggy anything :P0

I bet it would be great with coffee???0
-
It is really delicious with chocolate protein powder and a spoon of almond butter - blended with ice and sometimes half a banana.0

I was lactose intolerant for about 10 years, so I don't drink regular milk.
I don't like soy milk.
Rice milk is vile and disguting to me.
Almond milk is tasty, low calorie and pretty decent on the not having a bunch of fake crap in it front. I think it better on cereal than regular milk. I bake with it and there's little to no difference. But I think it tastes strongly of almonds and cannot drink it straight at all. It's not bad when mixed with other stuff like strawberries or something, but I can still taste the almond-ness through even that.
I use the Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla and prefer it greatly to the sweetened version (the unsweetened is still sweeter than cow milk). I recently picked up the chocolate unsweetened and it's pretty good as well.0 -
Tasted great with coffee. Almond milk has a hint of almond in it, but I think it tastes great with cereal, which is basically all I use it for. I've only bought it once. I usually stick to Light soy milk.0

Love almond milk is delicious!0

I have the dark chocolate kind in my refridgerator. Sooooo good. I love to put it in my Cheerios or just drink it for a snack. I've had vanilla but never the unsweetened kind. But I should try it as a sub for milk in the morning cereal.0
-
I love almond milk! To me it tastes like a milkshake. It is so good in smoothies and cereal.0
-
I'm going to rock the boat. I've drank soy for decades. Tried the almond a week ago, and thought about licking the bottom of my shoe to get the taste out of my mouth.0
-
I don't drink cows milk. But I love Almond milk! Yum! I get the unsweetened which is 35 calories a cup.
I made a homemade chocolate cake today and used in it in place of skim milk. Turned out great.0 -
I think Silk Coconut milk, unsweetened taste more like milk , better than Almond...more creamy in texture like milk but lower in fat and 80 cal for 1 cup and lots of calcium, but i do like almond milk as well, it's just more of a nutty taste0
-
DEFINITELY try it! I love it. Doesn't taste anything like almonds, i get the unsweetened kind and its around 40 calories for a whole cup. delicious with cereal, shakes, etc. I've never had the chocolate one but i'm sure that would be amazing too.0
-
I like it in my chai tea.0
-
Some like it because its lower calories and fat and to me it taste way different than milk. Its a hit or miss type thing. My daughter had a friend over(she is 9) and she liked it on her cereal. It does have less protein than cow or soy milk. I tend to alternate them in our house.
I'm not a cow's milk drinker. As an aspiring vegan I just don't like it plus I'm mildly lactose intolerant.0 -
I bought the unsweetened vanilla and it is quite milk like. I taste a hint of almond but nothing overpowering and it's not sweet at all.
It's only 40 calories for a cup and I like it. I bought the unsweetened plain once though and OMG.........GROSSEST STUFF EVER!!!!0 -
I have only tried the chocolate but it is DELICIOUS! I think 120 calories for 8oz.
The container always has an expiration date far in the future but it states to use withing 7-10 days of opening. Does anyone use it past those 10 days? I have a hard time drinking it so quickly! Thanks0 -
I'm a fan of the unsweetened vanilla. I haven't had regular milk in so long I can't say how it compares.
But when I drank coconut milk that was most similar in consistency to cows milk.
I use almond milk mainly in my smoothies and protein drinks. I love the richness it adds to it.0 -
I like the almond milk because I am lactose intolerant and its good for that it tastes like milk yes with a hint of almond to it can be a good snack I buy the one that only has 35 calories in it.0

My daughter can't have dairy so we made a Green curry out of the unsweetened So Delicious coconut milk,in the shelf box. Our local store can't keep it stocked so I buy two at a time. I LOVE it! Saute a whole chopped onion, add 1/2 jar of Thai Kitchen green curry paste, and 1 container of coconut milk. Great over hot bowls of veggies with 2 oz of turkey thrown in.
Ok, I need to make up a batch.0
