Activia - like it, hate it? Is it a "healthy" choice?

I am having constipation issues and have been experimenting with Activia - I started with the "light" version, and because of the artificial sweeteners, I am taking on more calories so I can eat the regular version. Is Activia a healthy choice? Is it a "clean" choice? (if not the "light" version?)

Ugh, i just had that issue too & realized it was b/c i had too much protein in my diet & not enough carbs. I've been buying "Fage" yogurt at costco... and adding flax seed. actually, i've been adding flax seed to a lot of things b/c it has a lot of fiber and i've been taking fiber tablets... and eating celery & NATURAL peanut butter. it's helped & i'm back to normal.

Having the same problem since I started trying to eat better and dieting. Would like to know the answer to this myself or if anyone has other advice to this problem. I have been eating Activia for 10 days now and eating 1 sunsweet prune a day for about a week. I get more than enough water. How about you? That may help I have been told.

Tried it didn't care for it gave me stomach craps I switched to high fiber oats. I eat 2 packages a day and going once a day instead of once every 2 weeks.

Here is the ingredient list for the vanilla..................
    INGREDIENTS:
Cultured grade A reduced fat milk, fructose syrup, sugar, modified corn starch, contains less than 1% of fructose, whey protein contentrate, kosher gelatin, natural vanilla flavor, sodium citrate, malic acid.

Definitely NOT clean. Fructose syrup and modified food starch............

Why not go for something wholesome such as Fage? It is one of the cleanest yogurts on the market.

Definitely NOT a good option. Its highly processed, with tons of added crap and fillers.

Don't buy into the hype that it "helps aid stomach issues"--- they claim this because of the active cultures (ie, good bacteria) in yogurt.

But guess what? ALL yogurt has that! And honestly, something like Fage or CHobani plain yogurt has three times the protein, no added junk-- meaning even more room for those active cultures.

Where can you find Fage or CHobani?

I can find it anywhere from the local supermarket chain to warehouse clubs (Costco, BJ's and the like).

i bought regular activia because i wanted to try the flavor (vanilla cereal) but i find it tastes gross. i am managing to finish the 4 pack but only cause i hate wasting food i bought. i don't do the clean eating and worry about every ingredient (maybe i will someday) but for me right now, it's just not realistic. i really like the dannon greek yogurts and i add strawberries to the vanilla one.
  • Love the Fage yogurt :) If you have a Kroger near-by they are on sale this week from what I can remember.

I have an activia every day, I don't eat as clean as I should so can't comment on that. The low-fat does taste very artificially sweetened, but I absolutely LOVE the cherry flavour. I'm not prepared at the moment to change it out because it's so low in calories compared to the full fat versions.

I suffered from chronic constipation for 3+ years (IBS) and have to admit the only thing that really helps keep me regular is porridge oats! I find it so much easier to go to the bathroom on days that I eat porridge so I make sure I have it for breakfast at least 4 times a week!

Now that I'm seeing all these posts about Activia I'm kinda mad at myself for just buying two 4 packs. I always jump the gun! lol
