Do you log everything?

I'm of the "log everything" mindset. Even when I'm not making great choices, it's good to be aware of what the "cost" of that delicious morsel is. So - I logged it all: the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Same. If you know what you're eating, you can work around it, and let yourself have treats within your limits, rather than stretching them.0 -
I log everything, even the occasional beer. I won't know if I am on the right track without it.0

Everything, Every day...0

I get Friday in, and am pretty good about backtracking on Monday to log in what I had Sunday. Saturdays end up being a toss-up. If I can remember, then I do. Being accountable for me is helpful b/c you lose track of just how many "little" calories you take in and snack on here and then. Running errands etc on Saturday - kids to this and that - grab what you can, when you can. That stuff adds up quick for me!0

I agree with everyone that logging everything is the ideal Is strive for, and most days I do log everything, but like different people said, there are some things that don't get logged. A single bite of a dessert from my daughter, tastes of the meal I'm cooking, pot luck meals when I can't even remember everything I had a dab of, and the rare buffet meal. I try to log what I remember and put in extra calories if I think I forgot stuff, but as long as I'm in the ballpark, I'm not a fanatic about it. Even when you know what you ate, and have the calories written on the package, you still could be off by 15% just by errors in processing and the fact that not every carrot has the same calories. I'm looking at the big picture, so the exact number of calories or an individual day's fat is not as important to me as my net calories over 7 days, or my fat intake across 30 days. Will there come a time when I won't log everything? Yes. But I need to get down to within about 8 pounds of my goal before I will even consider letting whole days go unlogged.0

Log it all every day.0

I log everything, to the point where sometimes it actually annoys me...I want to hold myself accountable...I also know that if I log everything, it makes me think before I eat something if it's worth the time to log it0

I log everything, almost to a fault and often to the chagrin of my friends and family. (yay Android app!) There have only been 2 days since November that I did not log everything, and they were not 'cheat days' or anything of the sort, but rather I simply forgot to log a complicated meal within a reasonable time and forgot the details.0

I have been logging everything for over a year now. Some days I might miss because of snowboarding, but I try to log everything. You don't know what you are taking in unless you calculate your intake, sure you can guess but that one meal or snack you feel isn't all that much can turn into many and soon enough you are now well over your goal.
If I do go over I balance me next day if needed. If I eat Dark Chocolate I log it, if I have a cheat day I log it.

I usually log everything and anything. The exception for me was this Saturday, when I had Indian food and really couldn't figure out the calories of the food.
If you're not logging something the only person you're fooling is yourself.0 -
I am a log Nazi! It keeps me accountable.0

I log everything. Everyday. Every bite. EVERYTHING.
I have to be accountable to myself. I cannot "sneak" something, or "sample" anything without it going on my log. It's not about "ha! gotcha!" but more just to know what I'm doing and my patterns.
My journal is public Have a look!0 -
I've been logging everything, I sometimes miss out a couple of unsweetened teas but I'm not too bothered about those as only about 15 cals a go.0

Absolutely everything...every day! Keeps me honest! :happy:0

I log everything every day except Saturdays. Only bcs it's my "night out", I always eat dinner at my parents place or a restaurant, and although I always do eat healthy, (like choose salads, skip the alcohol and dessert etc.) I can never be sure of EXACTLY how many calories I've consumed. So I just leave it blank Too much hassle to try and count how many calories there are in the salmon salad has when u'r sitting and enjoying yourself at a restaurant So not logging doesn't necessarily mean eating unhealthy0

I log absolutely everything, everyday. I have found that I'm far more aware of what I'm eating now then before. I never knew just how many calories were in so many things that I thought "weren't terrible" (sandwiches at Panera for instance). And it also helps me gauge on how much I need to burn so I know exactly where I'm at.0

I've just started this week but I'm logging every little thing I can. Even if there's hardly any calories in it.0

I log everything even if its just a lil i add it as the all of it0

I have been trying to log everything that I eat. I do forget the water but before I eat, I add it. At night for dinner I enter it in as I make it that way it is all done. The first two meals of the day and snacks are pretty much the same so it is pretty easy. but dinner is harder at this point.0

I pretty much log everything..
The only exception is little bites/samples of something. I know that one bite of cake, one bite of brownie, one bite of chocolate, etc. adds up but I mean this for when it is truly just a bite. If I eat a cookie, I will log it, but if I have 2 mini marshmallows or one potato chip from a friend or something like that, I wont like it.
This is mostly because, while I want to lose weight, I want to just live my life without worrying about it all the time. I'm not going to take out my phone, search for what I ate, figure out what percentage of the portion size I just had, and log it... it's not worth stressing about. I exercise about 6 days a week and I log all of my meals and snacks; there's no reason to worry about a 50 calorie difference in my daily total. I don't log it whenever I go up the stairs or carry a heavy box, so I figure I won't log the little bits I might eat in a day. They probably just about cancel out anyway, and it has worked for me so far.0 -
in fact i log it twice.. sorta... first i use the food diary as a menu planner to figure out what i can have and what i can fit in still.. then once i have the meal i adjust the amounts as and if needed.
That way no unpleasant surprises by end of the day *LOL*
I do that. It really helps.0 -
I can't understand why anyone wouldn't log everything?!
I'm pretty much religious now with reporting everything i eat and drink. I use it to plan forward so that if i want an alcoholic drink in the evening, i have to factor in being really good during the day, and most likely do some exercise too.
I know why people forget the weekends, they eat or drink too much and are ashamed to report in! That was like me in January, although you quickly learn how bad a lifestyle you're leading!! ;-)0
