I started this today and don't know what to put in for my excercise diary. Any help would be great.

I enter it as Aerobics, low impact for level 1. It depends on how difficult it is for you to complete (and how much your heart gets pumping.)

I found it somewhere if you're talking about Jillian Michaels - Level 1 is about 25 minutes long total and about 189 calories... not a lot, but it's something.

I enter it in as 30 Day Shred-Level 1...I burn approx 255 calories for Level 1. You may want to invest in a HRM to be more accurate

I had my Timex HRM while doing JM 30 day shredd...I believe the work out are 20 mins, but I did the work out for whole 30 min by repeating the steps .... ...My HRM says, I burned 337 calories...

I have been doing the shred as well. I am on level 2 but don't have a HRM yet so I don't know how many calories I am burning either... I am so confused by which monitor to buy there are so many different kinds. I just want one that is accurate and works properly!!

    Day 1: 240
    Day 2: 227
    Day 3: 223

It can vary in extreme amounts due to your body, weight, height, and how much effort you are putting in. Day 1 I tried SO hard!! Day 2 I was so sore from the first day I couldn't do a whole lot. By day 3 I could do the exercises a little easier so I burned less (that's my guess).

I use a Polar FT7 Heart Rate Monitor (with chest strap) to gauge how many calories I burn.

I log it as light aerobics for 5 min, then cross training for 20 min. Works out to just around 200 burned I think so around the mark.
  • When I first started doing Level 1, about 3 months ago, I would burn around 220 calories but now it's only about 120. This is according to my heart rate monitor. Perfect example of the better in shape you get, the harder or longer you have to work out. :grumble:

I modified the cardio to be low impact for my knees so I entered it as 125.. mostly because that's what I usually burn in 20 mins on the treadmill.

It's circuit training, so that's how you should log it.

Yea I log it as circuit training as well... but I only log 20 mins so hopefully it underestimates and not overestimates. I should really get a HRM but for now I'll have to deal with it.
