Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and need to stay focused on losing weight. Last year, I dropped 35 pounds, but with some severe life changes, I have gone back to my old habits and have started to gain weight. 11 pounds back on so far and my doctor says I am a strong candidate for diabetes, as I am in my late 40's and on high blood pressure medication, with parents both having diabetes.. I really don't want to keep endangering my health with food, but I am addicted to my bad eating habits. I need to motivate myself with my goal of losing weight and keeping it off!. It is so hard.....help!

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest, if only weight came off that easily :)

I understand. My mother is diabetic too. Each time I go into the doctors for any ailment they always ask if I've been tested for diabetes.

My father has a heart condition. I don't want to become my parents.

My mother keeps telling me that I'm on the path to her diabetes.
