I have been following a strict diet and exercise regimen since this summer, and I have just found myfitnesspal and I really think it will help me to kick those last 10! I have been in a rut for the past few months and I have been starting to get a bit discouraged. Does anyone have some tips to get out of a plateau and use myfitnesspal to the fullest? Thanks!

My best advice to you is logging in MFP every day. It's about holding yourself accountable for everything you eat and how you exercise. Log each day and you'll discover that eating sensibly follows naturally. It's not a magic bullet, but it's worked for me.0

The rut is normal for the winter! Logging into MFP helps motivate me through the winter... and I also remind myself that swimsuit season is quickly approaching (at least for us in North Carolina). Something else that got me out of my rut, was to start training some of my friends and dragging them to the gym to make them sweat.0

Definitely log on everyday! If you have an IPhone, there is an app! just eat healthy, exercise regularly, like you said you have been doing and things should work out for ya!0

Your body craves the same thing your mind does at this point: change. Change it up.
You don't have to work any harder, just smarter. Try changing what you do for exercise. If it's always been the treadmill, try some zumba or some kickboxing. If you've been focusing on lowering carbs, start focusing on getting enough fiber. Something just has to shock your body into realizing that your goal isn't homeostasis.0 -
Good job sticking to it :-)!! I'll tell you the same thing my trainer told me: "Lift weights, double your veggies :-)." I am on a weigh-in hiatus until March 15th, but I'm definitely shrinking. I started the year in 14's and yesterday I buttoned up a US size 8 pant (I had a fit getting out of them but that's a whole other story - I've never had to recruit help before LOL :-)).0

How often do you eat? and do you get the proper carbs, protein and fat? It's ideal to eat 5 small meals a day including carbs, prot, and fat with each meal.0
