Marinades????

How do we track them? I obviously don't consume the whole bag of marinade that my pork chops are marinading in right now...but, I feel like I should track the oil somehow....
I don't want to cheat myself and say "If i'm not consuming it, than I shouldn't count it"...I'm obviously getting SOME oil with it...
How do we do this??

I have no idea so I've just been using one serving size...
I'd like to know what others are doing as well.0 -
for a true knowledge on what is going in , since most packets dont tell you ..
Try making your own.
I like to buy qt size zippy bags , make my seasonings in a bowl then label my bag with what it is.
example:
My taco seasoning ( serves 4-6)
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground ceyenne red pepper
1/2 tsp.paprika
1/4 tsp. salt
2 dashes of ground pepper
1 dash of oregano
1 dash of brown sugar
mix with 1/3 cup water and on low heat mix in with 1lb of meat
( it has a good kick to it & u can add another 1/4 tsp of cumin to really heat it up)
all these portions you can enter into the recipe area on your food tab and then when you use it just click it and put in .25 of the serving
This is what I do. It works for me

Same. I would love to know. I've always been safe and counted a fair portion of it.0

Looking for the same answer. No real idea how much abosrbs in, how much burns off, etc. Usually if I marinate some chicken or pork chops in a pan, there'll be a good bit that stays on the pan or the bag....0

I measure my marinades by Tbsp or 1/2 cup depending on how much I use. After I remove the the food to cook I measure whatever is left over in the bowl and subtract that from the total amount I used...that number gives me what is actually on the food I'm eating. Make sense? It may not be completely accurate, but it can get you around the calories you're eating.0

if you put a cup of marinade in with the meat and you have half a cup left when you take the meat out, then that would leave half a cup on/in the meat, then divide by however many portions you were marinating, if it were 2, then it would be 1/4 cup for a serving
you could do that by measuring or by weighing the marinade before and after0 -
So I mean really, rather than doing all this math...could I get by and be safe by adding 25 cals to my dinner to account for it??0

Of the amount that stays with the meat, some of it will burn up when cooking - as shown by the bottom of my pans0
