Trying Again! I want to be "overweight"

Last year I got inspired, mainly by an up-coming Spring Break trip to Mexico, and between mid-January and the end of March I lost 35 pounds (down to 255 from 290). I felt great, fitting into jeans and other clothes that I hadn't worn in a couple of years! I had plans to be down to 235 by the end of the year.....

Unfortunately, after the vacation, I lost my motivation and by the start of 2011 I was back to 280 lbs and feeling fat, unfit and uncomfortable. :grumble:

I joined MFP a couple of weeks ago with the intention of getting back into a healthier lifestyle again.

I'm loving it so far. Not lost much weight - but already feeling better.

I really think that the calorie diary helps keep me motivated and prevents some of my "boredom snacking".

It really helps that the web site is easy to use and that I can even access it via an app on my Android phone.

At the moment, my main goal is to get my weight down to where my BMI no longer defines me as "obese".
It'll be nice to be "overweight" for a change!

I completely agree with you. Being "obese" sounds scary and embarassing. If you've ever played wii Fit they play tuba music when you're obese. No more tubas!!

Nice to see you on MFP! I know what you mean about the food diary keeping you on track. I only want to lose 5-7 pounds, but after just a few days of tracking my food, I saw that the high amounts of sodium I was inadvertently eating was barring me from losing weight!

Or, when you step on it says "OH!" like "OH you're so big!!"

I just hit "overweight" about 2 weeks ago and it was a fine day! I'm now two pounds under that and not as worried about "bouncing " into obese. It doesn't seem like it should matter much, but psychologically it really does.
