Hi everyone! I'm new to MFP and so far, I'm loving it! I am, however, having a hard time reaching my calorie and carb goal. It's weird because my fat and protein are OK but carbs and calories, nuh-uh. If some of you could take a look at my diary for today and give me some input, that would be great! Thanks!

eating breakfast would help a lot, but why's your calorie count so high? You'd have to eat almost 2000 if you started figuring in calories from exercise? You're eating a really decent amt of calories, not sure I'd worry about hitting 1700

Honey, you don't have to hit them exactly!! :) It's okay to have leftover carbs, fat, and protein. As long as you don't go below 1200, it's okay to have leftover calories as well. I'd say try not to go below 1500 calories though with your goals. 1200 is supposed to be a minimum, and if you start there, you won't have anywhere to go when you've hit a plateau.

Same thought, calories are high and less carbs the better. Protein is way more important. What is your activity level?

what do you have your goals set at
1 pound, 2 pound to lose each week
    and your exercise.

I for example have it set to loose 2 pounds a week and I dont enter any exercise in.
and Im suppose to eat 1220 calories a day. and if I get to work out great but this way I will still loose 2 pounds a week with eating 1220 calories

I agree with what the other posts are saying. The goals for things like carbs, fats, sugar and sodium are really there to set a maximum amount you should be eating...you don't actually have to reach those quantities, it's better to be under so you're okay on that score.
I'd say the goals for things like protein and fiber however are a minimum and you should try to achieve these or get as close as you can to these goals. The protein will help you to build lean tissue/muscle which in turn will then help you to burn more calories...and the fiber keeps your digestive tract active.

I wouldn't worry too much about those goals for the moment, if you eat healthy balanced meals and focus on your calorie intake it will all fall into place....but like previous posters have said, try not to let your daily intake drop below 1200 calories.

    Good luck! :-)

Thanks for the input guys! I appreciate it so much! My calorie goal is so high because I have a lot of weight to lose and that's what my recommended daily cals are. As for breakfast, I skipped today [which i know isn't good] but I usually always eat breakfast. I have my goal at 2 lb. a week and no exercise as of yet but I do plan on incorporating in exercise ofc.

Thanks again guys, totally taking the comments and gonna work with it!
