You know....Holidays can be scary, but I started my new lifestyle just before the holiday season last year and I got through it.

On Thanksgiving, I ate turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, veggies, roll, pumpkin pie. The only difference is, I didn't gorge myself on it. I ate small portions and enjoyed it and stopped when I was full.

That's the thing. You don't have to deprive yourself of good stuff. Just be sensible!!

I agree with this completely. I mean, on Thanksgiving I really only eat one meal anyway. we have out dinner around 2 or 3 pm so it replaces lunch and dinner. Maybe some fruit and yogurt in the morning. That said, I'll have everything everyone else is having. Heavy on the veggies, light on the gravy. Turkey, stuffing, potato, and a small piece of dessert. Even if you do go over your calories on a holiday, try to remember that one day won't make much difference in the scheme of this. Plus thing of all the calories you'll burn preparing all that food and doing ALL those dishes afterwards!

No diet plan for me on Thanksgiving! I have to give THANKS to all the Fabulous food my mom will be cooking!

  • I am eating everything I normally would......just in smaller portions! I will not keep myself from the things I love, I will just watch how much I eat of them!

I agree with this mentality..This is how I will be eating on the holidays this year! We have "big meals" at my grandparents house about every 2 weeks anyway and so far Ive done good with that...I eat what food I want, I just eat very small portions of it and youd be surprised how fast you can fill up on so little! Also, I try to eat very slowly as well that way I dont just eat til I feel full then get that sick too full feeling!

Your allowed to still live life when watching. Eat what you would normally but chill on the overeating. We all know when we should stop or our full No reason to make yourself sick full. Who wants to feel like that. Watch though if you completely take out stuff like butters or oils from your diet because you could get sick when you eat them for the first time again. Trust me not a good feeling!! I have had this problem many times because at home my family is easy on butters and I do not cook with oils at all. So if I eat out and it has it I am in trouble sometimes for 2 days

I hit the blaines low carb menu from Fit Tv and I am doing sugar free with splenda. But I'm not telling family that. When I do, they won't even try it.

And my sister is twice as big as me......

I am doing the fried turkey
    a ham plain
    low carb stuffing
    baked splenda sweet potatoes
    broccoli and cauliflower dishes
    green beans
and mashed potatoes and backed dream fields mac n cheese
some kind of yeast rolls and corn bread with butter milk
home made brown gravy with soy flour.
and I am planning on a huge garden salad with tomatoes and cucumbers.....

Now what I will eat is minus the potatoes and rolls, just not a big fan.
