i don't know if other people experience this but a few times a week i get this dizzy feeling and my whole body will feel numb or tingly like when your foot is starting to fall asleep, but i get that like everywhere. i've been drinking at least 140 oz of water a day and i ate today, when i woke up around 600 calories so i don't know what is going on.

Anyone else ever have this?

Ummm... errr.... sounds like you need to get in to see your dco ASAP! Also, you mention calories you eat, are you really on a 600 calorie eating plan? If so, that's not near enuff!

no on a 1520 cal a day, that was just a big breakfast i had to start the day out
  • You should go to a doctor immediatly. My sister in law just got out of the hospital after being in for 2 months. Her symptoms started out as you're describing. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called that she had.....something something syndrome. It was very hard to diagnose. Better to be safe than sorry.

Well I can think of three things that might be - low blood pressure, low blood sugar, and neurological/chemical issues (off the top of my non-medically trained head). Any of those should warrant a trip to the doctor. I tend to have low blood pressure which gets exacerbated when I donate plasma, so sometimes I have dizzy spells as well. Usually I feel dizzy and weak and lightheaded, and sometimes my face feels funny. One time I happened to be in front of a mirror for that and my face was white as a sheet from lack of blood, so that might be your tingling/asleep sensation. However it could be any number of things, only a doctor could tell you. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

i would see the doctor, just to be safe.

sometimes when I overload my body...go lets say 6-8 hrs no food, then hit it with a lot of food at once, my body reacts in the same way.

I have not had this issue since i started on 300-400 cals 'meals' 4-6 x a day (when exercising too)

I get about 1500 cals a day if I exercise.

my dr told me that my body could not assimilate(?) the food and was over loaded in processing so much so quickly. That and something about the glycogen/sugars hitting 1st and causing the symptoms.

Oh-and are you taking any thing to help you, un hmmmm go? I was eating activia and had a bad bout of feeling just what you decribed.

    I hope you feel better!

That being said, I would go see my doc!

Did you just start this diet / fitness plan?

When I first started, I used to get light headed, and a numbness tighling from my head down my body (is that what you are experiencing)... anyway... it went away before I had a chance to ask my doctor, and all is well! Might be related to the changes in blood sugar, blood pressure, hormones (from changing diet dramatically) etc.

Good luck and if it persists, definitely see your doctor sooner than later!

Please, please, please go see your doctor. There are such a variety of things that this can be that the doc is going to have to take into consideration your medical history, family history, your new eating plan, your exercise regimen, stress levels, etc... This is an important symptom. Best of luck....

no i've been cutting back for over a year now, haven't actually been too good lately, seem to keep going over so there's not really a drastic change. last time i felt like this my friend said it might be my blood pressure so i got it checked and it was normal, gonna test my bg when i get home maybe its dropping throughout the day, never really had that problem before but its possible i guess

i'm not a big fan of doctors, i've had health problems in the past with headaches and sinus problems and was always told it was nothing and i was fine, so i'd be sick for months and just be told there were a lot sicker people than me so i should feel lucky, and this is from several different doctors not just one so i have no faith in them whatsoever, and also don't currently have health insurance so i don't know if i want to spend at least 100 dollars to be told its all in my head and i'm fine
  • I had Rocky Mountain Fever - which caused those symptoms. You get it from being bit by a tick - not a deer tick. I live in NC and it's very popular here. There are other symptoms - like a rash on your feet but I didn't get them. I just felt lousy for weeks! Ended up in the hospital with the ambulance people and nurse at the hospital thinking I was having an anxiety attack. Lucky, a doctor decided to test me and I had the "fever". Also, low potassium will cause it too.

But, yes, see a doctor soon. If you're potassium is low, it can cause your entire body to be one great big leg cramp - it happen to me and I thought I was having either a stroke or heart attack.

    good luck

do you get those symptoms when you get up .... i mean if your sitting down then them up your seat ?

i get it too. im vegetarian and i know i dont eat enough iron ....im pretty sure it is iron so i try to eat as mch as possible, spinach is not the best ... eat your peas,,, !!! also thym as 600% more iron then anything you can find,, so sprinkle thym on everything (maybe not ice cream ..lol) the dried stuff will do,
your body also needs vitamin c to absorb the iron ...
multi vitamins would be a good idea as well... although i like to get my nutriment from real food..

i would definitly say that if the sympotms dont stop or get worst i would go see a doctor,,,
i would have but im in the same situation as you... as i dont have free medical care right now
it could be something more serious like low blood pressure or something else (im no medical expert)

i do take a multi vitamin, and have been tested for anemia in the past because i always felt tired, but this is a different feeling, it stopped by late last night. i tested my blood sugar when i got home from work when i was feeling my worst and it was high (95) then i tested it when i was feeling better last night and hadn't eaten in about four hours it was (108). i'm not really happy with those numbers since i was pre diabetic before i lost thirty lbs and thought it would be better now but it seems worse. however i don't think that's whats causing the light headed feeling. what a pain. thanks for all your input
