I usually eat Karoun yogurt in the morning and decided to get the non fat version this time, not looking at anything but the calories. When I logged breakfast this morning I noticed 18g of sugar!! SERIOUSLY?! I bought 3 tubs because I have to go out of my way to get it and now I'm scared to eat it at all. WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?????

OK, that's the end of my rant for now. Thanks for listening!

It is always advisable to stay away from low fat products, as it is always known that the other nutritional categories are compromised by doing so. They have to add something to it to make it taste good for us to want to buy it again.

Thats why I stay away from anything but plain greek yogurt. There are all sorts of sugars or artifical sweetners in yogurt. That is why reading the the ingredients and nutritional info is so important.

This is so true. I once bought fat free cottage cheese. I have never in my life tasted anything that salty except maybe salt water. It was absolutely disgusting. I'll go with 1% next time.
People usually see 'light' or 'fat-free' and think 'healthy' but there's always something else. And organic sugar is no better than table sugar. The only difference is the lack of pesticides. It is still processed. Raw sugar - also processed only less so.

Dairy products do have sugar in them naturally...get the kind that doesn't have any more added.

But I wouldn't worry that much about the sugar that naturally occurs in it.

I don't worry about the sugar in fruit either.

I eat yogurt, and add milk to cereal and coffee. I also eat about 2-3 pieces of fresch fruit a day.

I never add extra sugar to anything, and I still go over on my sugars.

I have managed to stay around 1200 calories daily, and the weightloss is going very steadily.

So I guess I'm doing it the right way.

Lesson learned! I was hoping to save the extra 40 calories I would gain by eating non-fat, but now I see I'm 50g over on my sugar and it's not worth it! Hopefully they will let me exchange what I have for the real stuff. Never again!

that sugar is worse for you than those calories. high sugar levels will make your blood sugar spike and crash, which causes you to feel hungry and crave more junk.
