so, i've been a very dedicated buyer of almond breeze unsweeted vanilla almond milk, thinking that i was getting the least calories possible in a milk substitute (40 per cup)...
and then i see silk's new unsweetened almond milk for 35 calories per cup! and one less carb!
is it ridiculous that i'm so excited about this? those 5 calories every day will eventually add up :)

I love that stuff, but have only been able to find it *once*.... it's never there when I go back. Must be popular.

I can't find unsweetened almond milk in the small town we live in. I will have to check the next time we are in a bigger city. I enjoy the sweetened almond milk, but would prefer to not have the extra calories or have the option to add them myself.

That is what I use too! I was so mad last night, I went to the grocery store after working out because I was craving Quaker Oatmeal Squares for dinner and I didn't have any milk at home (I usually keep it at work) and Kroger had all the Silk products on sale and every last one of them was gone! I almost went to another grocery store but was already tired and The Biggest Loser was coming on soon so I just got one of those little things of regular milk to hold me over. Might try another store tonight.

I just started using this stuff this week after reading about it on here. I love it, love it, love it! Fortunately, I haven't had a problem finding it...all the local stores have it where I am from.

if you have a local walwart you might check at the catalog desk to see if they can ship it site to store for you. you may have to order a case but since it doesn't have to be refridgerated until you open it it might be worth checking into.

wwwnutsonline.com has almond breeze milk for $2.99 each and it ships to your home. i noticed they had vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. i didn't look to see if they had sugar free and i didn't notice the shipping but it is an alternative to not getting it at the store.
  • I love this stuff too! I use it in my oatmeal, with some splena and cinnamon. The only problem is I end up dumping some of it because I don't use it within two weeks.

I agree! It's got alot less sugar than the vanilla and regular as well!
  • All of the stores where I live carry the Silk unsweetened almond milk, along with every other kind of dairy alternative you can think of. They're all within a few cents of each other, too, so it makes choosing which one to buy very easy. I LOVE me some milk, but I just couldn't continue drinking so much of it with all the calories. So, I decided to try unsweetened soymilk (delicious), then I just bought some unsweetened (silk brand) almond milk. Okay, the first drink was pretty awful and almost made me reconsider the extra 30 calories or so for the soymilk, but now that I have been drinking it and using it in foods for the last few days I loooooove it! It's SUPER creamy and works great in recipes, soups especially! and shakes! But it's good with granola for cereal or to use in my ice cream maker with some strawberries and a little sweetener. I can't believe how creamy it is. It's not worth it to me to make my own because it's so readily available and I just don't want to find the time to make it or clean up after making it, but it's definitely going to be one of my most purchased groceries because I've gone through the entire carton (still only 280 calories!!!!!!) in the last 3 days. Hehehe. I'm in love.
