Help I have not lost a pound for two weeks. I am vegetarian who eats dairy and eggs. Someone look at my diary and please help me. I eat back my calories for the most part but I am scared to up them for fear I will gain weight back. I think maybe I am eating too many carbs or fat. Let me know what you all think. My goal would be to loose 5-7 more pounds.

I would drop the carbs some and bump up the protein a bit. The last serveral pounds are going to be the hardest to lose and will come off slow! Keep an eye on your sodium intake, drink lots of water.0

Try a spike day. Eat over your calories but do it with good food. You may gain a pound or two for a few days but then you will lose again and do better.0

Yes, cut back the carbs. Are you drinking all of your water each day? You need at least eight 8 oz. glasses a day. Log it and see.0

Hey! I'm lacto ovo vegetarian as well... It looks like you need to cut your carbs and up your veggies! also don't go over you protien. if you would like you can take a look at my diary. don't look at the weekends but my week days I follow a balanced vegetarian diet. also google the vegetarian food pyramid. it will help. also I would stay away from the fake meat. Its full of sodium and its not good for you! instead try tempeh or tofu :]0

I have a similar story: I am to loose 5-7 pounds, and the scale would not move since weeks. However - I had some serious workouts, and the measurig tape says I've changed. And muscle weighs more than fat -- can this be your solution?0

agreed! keep a detailed measurement record! You may be surprised.0

This happened to me too. I looked at your exercise diary and it looks like you have been doing the elliptical for a while. It may be time to change it up. Add some weight training, do a class, a dvd, something different - your body may be getting "used to" what you are doing.0

How much weight did you tell MFP you wanted to lose weekly? Since you have so little left to lose, you should be shooting for no more than 0.5 lbs weekly. You need to be eating more calories now than you did initially because your body needs to have fuel closer to maintenance in order to know it's supposed to burn fat.
Also, how is your sodium intake? You aren't tracking it in your diary and that could absolutely slow you down. And make sure to drink plenty of water (I forgot to look at that part of your diary).
Good luck!0 -
Sometimes the last pounds are the hardest. Your diary looks like you may be eating too few calories but it is really hard to tell. The person who recommended a spike day may be absolutely correct and that alone could break your plateau.
Some other things that work to lose the last bit of bodyfat without losing lean body mass are: increased cardio, 5 meals a day with a substantial amount of protein in each, increase muscle mass through weightlifiting. (if you increase your cardio, you should also eat more which will in turn increase your metabolism setting off a nice cascade.)0 -
Water water water! It seems odd to think something as neutral as water would help weight loss but it does.
Do you really need to lose the 7 pounds? Maybe this is where your body should be at? There's a popular belief that when you're this close to your goal that you need to switch from weight-centric goals to body measurement and/or body fat percentage goals.0 -
Try zig-zagging your caloric intake by about 300 calories for a week or so....0

Too many carbs and not enough protein. Lot's of snacks but not a lot of complex carbs, green leafy veggies and protein.0

I would keep a little bit of carb for fuel and sports, but I would replace all the simple carbs to complex carbs.
Lot of veggies, a lot of soup (keep the feeling of getting full longer), getting some fruits but not the one rich in sugar.
Eating sometime some low fat dairies in the morning, as it seems to reduce the absorption of fat over the day.
For protein, only some white meat and fish but no more than 30% of the diet.
Your weight will have some cycles as you do as well some work out.
Your body will build some muscles instead of fat, so you might not lose every week some weights.
But in long term, it is worth as muscles require to burn calories.
I would do a mix of cardio and muscles workout.
Good luck0 -

This is exactly what I was going to say
Like she said you will gain some water weight that is very short term like 24-48 hours but it will increase your metabolism, and it's fun.
I shoot for 2X my BMR for a Spike Day0 -
why do you eat 10 table spoons of half and half every day? just wondering lol.
do you work out at all??
i would up the workouts and watch sodium and carbs closer0 -
I drink a lot of coffee, like three or four cups a day and I add half and half. I might be over estimating how much I use but I figure it catches up somewhere else. I do exercise but only for 25 minutes each morning on the elliptical.0
