My husband made a huge pan of premium Nishiki Brown Rice , it say 1/4 dry equals 140 cal, so...what exactly does 1/4 dry equal to cooked??? I would try to cook it except he made the rest of the bag and I can only get it 1/2 hour away from where I am located and I don't want to go there just for rice.

Usually, it's about 1/2 cup cooked, but look at your water ratio. So if he made 2 cups of rice but needed 4 cups of water, then the rice would double. If he made 2 cups and needed 3 cups of water, than the rice would be mutiplied by 1.5... hope that helps and makes sense lol
  • Depends on how much water he used. Assuming the rice soaks up all the water he used, if he uses a 2:1 ratio the calculation would look something like this. 1/4c of rice + 1/2c of water = 3/4 cup of cooked rice. Of course some water will be lost by evaporation, but the difference should be pretty negligible.

    1/4 dry = approximately 3/4 cooked
