Seriously? What The Hell?

OK, so one of my best friends is a dietician. She said if I want to lose weight then I should be eating 2,200 calories. MFP says I need to eat 1260 calories. What is up with that?

    Maybe ask your friend why 2200??

    MFP doesn't count cals in, that's why if you exercise you have more cals to eat. Over 2,000 sounds like alot to try and lose weight

    The body burns on average 2200-2700 cals per day with women at the lower end. Sounds to me like shes recomending an intake to maintain your body weight.

    That 2200 calories has to be coupled with exercise. Almost all dieticians will tell you not to lose more than 2 pounds per week. With regular exercise, assuming you burn about 500 calories from exercise per day, 2200 sounds good. Remember if you eat at your maintenance and burn 500 calories a day that will equal 3500 which accounts for one pound a week.

    If you maintain that level of exercise, plus a 500 calorie deficiency, you reach your 1000 calorie deficit, which will account for two pounds lost a week.
