I want to start buying new healthy food now that I have started on this weight loss and exercise journey. What are some good healthy food staple to have in the house at all times? Please help me make a grocery list.

I just brought home a couple tomatos, some alfalfa sprouts, lettuce leaves, and bread wraps (most kinds are great). I'll mix that with some lunch meat for my lunch wrap.
I have grape nuts and vanilla flavored almond milk for breakfast. Sometimes I'll stir in protein powder.
I have fresh fruit (oranges, strawberry, blueberry) for snacks between meals. Also I have carrots and hummus.
Tonight we are having cheesy potatoes and baked Cod for dinner. I like to have a small serving of meat and lots of veggies with dinner. Tonight is just 'use up stuff in pantry' night
I go shopping 2-3 times a week now, to buy fresh items that I eat within the day or next day.0

Canned tuna, lots of veggies, some fresh fruit, plain yogurt, baby carrots, kashi products (they have good snacky stuff), pita chips, humus.
I just got back from Whole Foods, the groceries are still on the floor sitting next to me, haha (Not the stuff that goes in the fridge!)
I was looking over my shoulder to see what I should suggest for you.
What I usually do is look up recipes on healthy sites like http://www.skinnytaste.com and make my grocery list from there. Plus all that stuff I listed.0

One thing we have done is replaced all prepared foods on our grocery lists (such as breakfast bars) with homemade. Why pay someone else to put it together for you and then not know what they put in?0

I like stocking up on stuff that lasts and I can use to make my own foods to avoid premade. My favorite is Hunts No Salt added Basil Garlic and Oregano Diced Tomatoes. I use it for all kinds of stuff, it makes a great base for all kinds of sauces, plus cooked tomatoes are better for you.
I also like having lots of snacks in the house, because when I am here all day I get munchy. I usually have bananas, almonds, apples, almonds, whole carrots (dont let them fool you they taste much better that way!) I also like to bake so I keep plenty of whole wheat flour and applesauce on hand.
