This doesn't have to do with dieting per say.. I am feeling more comfortable with my body and want to look good...

I'm thinking of getting contacts I tried like 10 years ago and couldn't get them out and freaked out. I had problems touching my own eyes.. but I am thinking of giving it another go.. I heard you can get some contacts that stay in for a week straight w/o removing.. anyone have contacts... those ones.. any tips for me before I decide whether to pursue it?

I wear contact lenses that I can leave in for a month!!! Love them. The only problem I have is I have dry eyes and sometimes have to change them out sooner than the 30 days because they got too dried out. But I think it is so worth it.

I don't have that type... my personal opinion is that i'm not sure as to how safe they would be for your eye health. I've worn contacts for the last 20 yrs off and on, usually with daily wear. I had to cut back as my eyes showed signs of fatigue etc from over use.

If you can i would recommend discussing with your optician about contacts and trying to get a trial pair (that could either be in the format of the weekly like you are asking about, or that could be a daily type).

Because of my type of work now (very dusty etc, environment) and the wear and tear on my eyes from over use of contacts when I was younger, I know wear daily disposables when I wear contacts. These are thrown out after each use (also easier as i don't have to worry about cleaning them etc)

The last thing to mention is the make-up of the contact itself (soft etc) that could have affected your comfort etc.

    Hope that helps abit

Love my contacts. My eyes are very sensitive so I have to take them out every night but once you get used to putting them in and taking them out, it's a breeze. It took me 20-30 minutes to do either when I first got them and it was VERY frustrating. But I have been wearing them for years and it takes me about 10 seconds now. Best thing to do is go to the eye doctor and let him/her tell you what type is best for your eyes. But go get contacts!! You'll love them!

When I started wearing contacts I just went a few hours at a time and built up to it. I have daily disposables because any other ones always dried out and were difficult to remove. Just gotta get used to it, but it's definitely worth it! I love my contacts and have had them for 10 years now!!!

I LOVE my contact lenses! They can be really convenient and you'd be suprised how much your range of vision improves with them. I can't stand to wear my glasses when I drive any more.

If you're squimish about touching your eye try this to get used to it:
Wash your hands. Then look as far as you can to one side with your eyes and then GENTLY touch the outside corner of the opposite eye (eg. look left, touch the right eye). It's totally safe, I used to do it in elementary school to freak people out., and it'll be pretty much out of your field of vision, so that may help. If your hands are dry it may sting a bit, but if you have a little water on your finger that should cut down on that.

When choosing the type of lense that's best, of course talk to the contact specialist about it, but remember that the kind you leave in are more likely to get infected.

Good luck with the lenses! They're awesome!

Love love love my contacts. It seems weird to wear glasses now. I have the kind you can leave in for a month, but my doc suggested taking them out once a week to give my eyes a rest. I pretty much just take them out when my eyes are overly tired, but other than that, I forget they are there.

    Go for it.

I LIVE in my contacts! I would suggest discussing the options with your doctor.. I have an astigmatism and very dry eyes, so it's taken me a couple of different brands until I found one that works for me! There are so many brands, and everyone is different!

The other thing is, have them help you put the contacts in the first time. I started wearing contacts about 5 years ago and was nervous the first time, but my doctor sat down with me and showed me exactly what to do and what to do if they roll of my eyeball, etc. I found it really helpful and easily adjusted to them!

    Good luck!

Hate glasses, contacts weren't good for me, eyes were too dry, I went and had laser surgery, only thing I have to wear sunglasses to protect my eyes.

I can't stand glasses either. I have worn contacts for a long time now. For me the Lasik surgery was around $3600. I have heard it is a lot cheaper in Canada. I'll stick with contacts for now, unless the price drops.

I am using Night and Day contacts - they stay in your eyes for 30 days and nights, then you throw them away and take new ones. Im using them because I like to party and it would be hell to take them out half drunk in some club toilet, haha... So, I can recommend them. Consult your doctor!
