Could anyone tell me please if I need to lower my calorie intake as I have an underactive Thyroid - 175mg of Thyroxine taken daily and recommended calories 1,200.

No, if you are taking medicine for it, you don't actually have a underactive thyroid. You should never go below 1200. I am also taking medicine for my thyroid.0

I am on meds also for mine... and you don't want to go under but you do want to push yourself to exercise if you are feeling tired. It will help.0

I have a low thyroid and take Eltroxin and eat 1200. As long as your blood work is stable it should be okay, I just went to get mine re-checked this morning. I also aim a bit lower for only 5lb a month so that I don't get discouraged if I don't lose as fast as some of my friends who are doing the exact same things.0
