wow.. Im starting to realize that i must not see myself the way other people do, I feel this way whenever Im out and about or in social settings (esp. w/ the opposite sex), a perfect example is I was at a bar a couple nites ago (drinking cranberry juice ofcourse) and everyone i seemed to engage in convo with somehow led me to discussing fitness and/or my workout plan and diet also i was being referred to as that "Big" guy.. I was ultimately flattered but also confused because when i look in the mirror i see myself as small(after a work-out average at best) with many flaws and I would be the last person I would be asking for fitness advice from.. I just wish I saw what everyone seems to see for a day. I was just wondering if anyone else goes through this or something similar?? Im starting to believe Im Manorexic!! HELP!
Thanx Guys

I think as well as becoming fit, your mind has to compltely change the way it was thinking too... like guys stare at me more now then they did before I started working out, I have started getting compliments from perfect strangers, and I have to stop and think, well maybe all my progress is finally starting to pay off.
Its not only your body that has to change its your mind too,.0 -

This is pretty much right. It's the illusion of size based on muscularity. When the average person looks at you they see a "big" guy, not in terms of being fat but being muscular.
For example a middleweight male bodybuilder competes at up to about 175lbs. Put them next to a man who weighs 200lb with a higher bf% and you could probably see that the 200lb man is bigger in terms of overall size. However in isolation people would perceive the bodybuilder as having more mass simply because of the more defined musculature.
It's a compliment.0 -
The word is commonly used in body-building circles to describe a person who is big but do not realize it and are always fighting for gains.0

I know what you mean. It's crazy!0

hehe I know what you mean when I started bulking my work buddies started calling me big and stuff. The girls felt my arms and stuff as if i was huge or something and i of course was flattered but confused. It may have been a shock to them but to me I am small as hell especially now that I am cutting. I am planning to be 175lbs with 10% bf.0

I don't think you have that far to go to be frank.
You already have a physique that most guys would kill for. I'm not sure how tall you are but as a rough estimate you will need to put on about 10 - 14lbs of pure muscle to look appreciably bigger in real mass terms.
Listen, your perception of yourself may be distorted if you are hanging about in body building circles regularly. Your current weight could put you in the medium weight class division. If you are hanging about with heavyweight guys you may indeed look small (but don't forget a significant % of these guys are juicing) but in terms of the normal population you are in avery good place.
Enjoy it mate. You have already done very well.0
