I've heard they are really good for you and do a lot of positive things for your body? Is this true? Any other "non popular fruits or veggies" that do more than just give you Vitamin C? Thanks in advance people!

  • All veggies are good for you! They say to try and eat a variety of colors to get different benefits. Although avocados are high in fat, they have MANY benefits and are so delicious!

They are high in fat, but it is the "good" kind of fat that is healthy for your heart. We eat a lot of avacados in my household too. I like to slice them up on top of my salads or inside of a turkey wrap in place of mayo.

ETA: Dark leafy greens are some of the best veggies you can eat too (forget the pale, sad iceburg lettuce). General rule of thumb with fruits and veggies is the more colorful they are, the more nutrients they'll provide. Try to eat a wide variety from each color group.
