Hi everyone, I just signed up yesterday, and I'm super excited to have a community that I can turn to for support, especially on the tough days. My goal is to lose a total of 50 pounds. My best friend and I started the "couch to 5K" program today, and my legs are paying for it tonight! On paper, it looks like a really do-able plan, but man my body did not want to run today. They say it gets a little easier with each workout, and I can only imagine after the day we had, that must be true. We went out around 11am today. The weather man said it would start raining/storming after 2pm, so we thought we'd be safe. We were about a mile and a half away from our car, stuck out on a trail at the lake when it starting thundering, lightning, and hailing. Thank Heavens for shelter houses at the lake! Anyway, I'm hoping that if being stuck in a hail storm didn't deter me from going out and doing it again, nothing will. My goal is to be able to run a 5K at the end of April to benefit the Ronald McDonald house.

Welcome! I am new here as well. Today is my first day. I made the account a couple of days ago but didn't get into it until today, but I'm already loving it!

Me too! I couldn't believe how many foods are already saved in the database, which makes it so much easier to record your meals! I even found restaurants that I thought were only around here in NE Kansas, and I thought for sure I'd have to research and put the values in. Good luck with your journey!

Hi abra, welcome to MFP! My sister is doing the couch to 5k and is running her 1st 5k in April! I wanted to do it with her but I have heel issues and long periods of running really do a number on my poor feet. :ohwell: That stinks that u got stuck in that storm but like u said, if u can get thru that then u'll be more determined to continue running

Its great to meet u, feel free to send me a friend request!

I am on the south west side of Kansas. But will be moving to the middle of Kansas in just a few months. It is good to see another Kansan on here. I wish all the luck to you.
