On the box it says 1/2 cup of dry oats is 150 calories. If it's cooked w/just plain water (nothing else added) will the calories remain the same even though the oatmeal swells to be about a cup?

yes and very good for you0

yep. the reason they give the calories for dry oatmeal is that it would be difficult to correctly figure the calories of "wet" because it will vary with how much water different people add.0

Its the best deal. Its very filling and low in calories. I like to add raw almonds, frozen fruits, granola and or Emeralds Breakfast packs.0

I guess I was just confused about the whole "calories in the plain oatmeal" thing because it looks like so much food when cooked. I thought "there's no way all of this is only 150 cal!" Truly a great food.:D0 -
I agree! I love mine with p.b. and cinnamon. The raisins are good also or cranberries and apples diced. YUMMY! Now I am sorry that I had an omelette for a change! lol
Oh, have you tried the steel cut oats?? Delish especially with a little brown sugar and cinnamon.0 -

That is the dry measurement. 1 cup dry makes 2 cups cooked. Or 150 calories of cooked oatmeal.0 -
