When should/do you weigh yourself?

How often do you add a weight checkin? And also, when in the day is best? I'm thinking mornings, at shower time?

I have been a bit slack recently but usually I weigh in as close to possible the same day of the week and the same time of day in order to be as accurate as possible.

You can do it as often as you like, but I suggest weighing weekly at the same time of day. I will be weighing myself shortly as I do it each Sunday :-)

I was wondering the same thing.
I decided not even to weigh myself until after the first 5 weeks, as not to discourage myself if I'm not losing in the very beginning while I get acclimated. But I'm really interested in hearing about when everyone else is weighing in.

I weigh every Saturday at about 8 a.m. That way it's pretty consistent and pretty easy to rule out daily fluctuations... either I lost weight or I didn't. The consistency in time is key, I think, though I've heard that it's better to weigh in the morning before you go about doing silly things like eating (though you should pee first! lol)

I weigh myself most mornings, but only record the losses, any gains are quickly ignored ;o)

I personally weigh daily on a morning, same time each day usually, before breakfast, after peeing!!
It's best not to do it daily though because of normal fluctuations, but I am starting to track using a graph instead of just looking at the numbers, so even if it fluctuates, I can see a trend either down or up.

I weigh in on a monday morning, as soon as i get up before having anything to eat or drink. I pee first haha : )

I like monday weight in becasue the week overview of cal goal runs from monday to sun, so i can review my week oon sunday night before the weigh in.

I think some people weigh every day, and it helps them keep focussed, its not for me as i find the weigh in quite stressful and couldnt do it every day. Its just figuring out what works best for you really , but the important thing is making sure you are consistant about the time of day, your body fluctuates a lot in the course of the day.

    : )

I weigh myself daily at the same time of day after being to the loo. I do the daily weigh to I can trend my loss and notice patterns and cause and effect as in this posting here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/186936-shock-veggies-make-you-weigh-more.
  • OK - Monday morning, after the shower and shave.... That will be my official weigh in, but I will be sneeking a peak every couple of days at the same time. :)

I weigh in every morning after the first toilet visit and before I've eaten or drunk anything and just before taking a shower. Sure sometimes it will go up but I'm at the stage where I can handle that emotionally. I check in my weight whenever it drops below the last check in. That way I get little wins more often than once a week :)
