Shove a turkey up your jumper!!!!

I've just done something that some might consider to be a just a tad mad...but I don't care, it's made me feel all positive and focused for the week ahead! Despite the fact i've lost 10 pounds since being on here, i'm really not seeing it at all and my clothes certainly don't feel any looser...SO, while on this morning's trip to the supermarket I decided to fill my basket with 10 bags of sugar then shuffle up and down a few of the aisles with it to remember what it felt like carrying that extra weight!!!!
Anyway the upshot is, i've gone from feeling like i've not achieved very much....to feeling that actually my current 10 pounds loss is not to be sniffed at!!
I highly recommend you do this if you're feeling like your weight loss just isn't happening fast enough, it's really put things into perspective for me......................I feel I should however point out that if your weight loss has been quite considerable and you're thinking of doing something similar, i'd advise that you do this in the privacy of your own home. Trying to fit items in your basket that weigh in excess of 20 pounds could prove to be tricky, so carrying the necessary items about your person would be easier.
At this point i'd just like to issue a disclaimer and say that for those who choose not to heed my advice, I am NOT responsible for you taking the decision to shove frozen turkeys up your jumper in Costco
you will either
a) get frost bite
b) get carted off to the funny farm by men in white coats
c) be spending the night in a police cell
(or possibly all three)
Well, that's all folks...just thought i'd share my little motivation tip with you!!

I've lost 35lbs so far and have gone down 2 pants sizes, but looking in the mirror, I can't see any change. Everyone around me can see it though, or are they just being supportive?
I have a friend with a weight vest, so I may see how much he can load on with that and try it for a while.

As always another humerous anecdote from the Waaaaabittt.

Nice post, I like it!
A great motivational idea to maybe fill a water container at home on the scales to the amount you lost then pick it up and see how it feels - subject to fitness levels, obviously!
Personally, I'm off to find an 18lb turkey - does it matter if it's still alive..?0 -

Hahaha...you do whatever suits you my dear....but may I suggest you don't leave the turkey's head sticking out the bottom of your jumper. At first glance, to passing onlookers, it may seem that you're just a very rotund fella with his..erm...tackle hanging out!! Don't want you getting arrested for indecent exposure now do we! :noway:0 -
Saw the title and just had to read the post. I am so glad I did! Very motivating and also makes one remember that whether you personally see the weight loss or not, it is there and every pound is important.
Thanks for putting a smile on my face so early in the morning!0 -

Wow!!! 35 pounds...now that's phenomenal..you should be very very proud of yourself. I'm sure that having gone down two pant sizes there's a massive visual difference and no I i don't think people are just being kind/supportive, they're just being honest!!
Well done you!!0 -

LOL, Ha, ha, that's my CRAZY Honeyrabbit!!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one to think in these terms. You're sweeter than I using sugar as an example (or turkeys). I always say to my husband, "I've lost 9 pounds of hamburger" just imagine!!!
Thanks for the great post. Smiling mightily you've made my day!!!!!0 -
What a way to put things in perspective. We always seem to belittle our accomplishments, but we need to be proud of them instead. THANKS0
