Kettlebells

I am looking into buying a kettlebell. I have done a lot of research and it seems to give great results and burns up to 400 cals in 20 minutes (that came from 2 sites that were not trying to sell you anything so I find it easier to believe). Lookin for feedback from people who have used them or is currently using them. Thanks!!

i sometimes incorporate kettle bells into my circuit training, but the only move i have ever performed are swings. they are a squat move while swinging the kettle bell over your head with straight, controlled arm movements. i love it and it really works a lot of muscle groups. i would like to learn some other moves with them, but i highly recommend giving them a try! :]0

I bought the Kettleworxs, 6 Week Body Transformation. I am on Week 3 so far and I LOVE it! I would say go for it! It is a super tough workout, but no pain no gain baby! Depending on my effort, I do burn about 400 cals in 20 minutes!0

I use them with my trainer. They're useful because you actually have a handle to grip onto during activities instead of just free weight dumbells. I don't know any of the DVD's or workouts designed for kettlebell training so I'm not sure about calories burned (I just use my HRM for a full training session and haven't noticed a difference between kettlebell and non-kettlebell moves).0

I take a kettlebell class and burn around 650-700 calories in a hour. I am not sure if I could burn 400 in 20 minutes on my own. My class is bootcamp style and the instructor really pushes us and I feel like dying at the end. I have heard not to get the Jillian Michaels dvd because her form is not correct.0

It is an awesome workout, and really gets your heart pumbing. I have the Kettlenetics DVD's, they wear me out!!!!! I use a four pounder when I work out with the DVD. I have a nine pounder I use just for lifting, squats, etc. Hope this helps.0

I think kettle bells are very effective! I don't know how much cals. I burn, but while doing a kettle bell work out they get my heart rate up very fast and it stays up for most of the work out. I do Jillian Michaels Shred It with Weights and just started Amy Bento's kettle bell work outs. I started with 10lbs. but moved to 20lbs. very fast. I love kettle bells! Fast and very effective!0

I recently bought the DanskinNow 10# kettlebell and it comes with a workout on DVD. I love it. I also have the KettleNetics set that comes with a 4# kettlebell and workouts on DVD. They really work you!! I borrowed a 10 Minute Solutions Kettlebell workout from the library, it has five 10 minute workouts that you can mix & match or do the whole thing. And Bob Harper has a kettlebell workout on DVD, I haven't seen it yet though.
I love using kettlebells. I recommend them to friends all the time.0 -
I love my KBs. I have an 18, 35, and 44lb KB and I try to incorporate at least one KB workout per week.0

I started with a trainer the other night who said the same thing and they are great for ab work....she said you can work the entire ab area because of the weight.0 -
I have recently started using kettle balls and I love them, I do not know many moves with them yet but what I do know I really enjoy. I feel it in my whole core and my arms. Go for it.0

I have one and I enjoy it. I agree it works everything. The first time I used it I was skeptical but boy it will kick your butt. You can incoporate lunges and squats in with it. It helped tone my arms and stomach.0

I am on week five of my second round of KettleWorx. I started w/ a 5 lb. and I'm now on a 7 lb. kettlebell. The reason I love it is because you can do so many different things so quickly and with only one weight!
I lost quite a bit of weight doing Zumba, but I didn't get BIG compliments until I started adding the KettleWorx. I still do both and it has worked out pretty well.0 -

I believe Jillian Michaels has a DVD out for training with kettlebells!0 -
Thanx for starting this post! I'm doing the 30 Day Shred, and was looking at kettlebells at Walmart last night, thinking I might do a DVD with kettlebels for my next workout!
Appreciate the responses!
